Job Summary

This position is an engineering intern role that will work with existing Electric Distribution Grid Planners and field operations to develop solutions to Distribution Load and Reliability problems. This will be accomplished using our Synergi distribution modeling software and our TRSi customer outage program platform. The candidate will evaluate AMI metering data and outage performance data to help develop appropriate solutions to improve the architecture of the system, thus helping to mitigate overload conditions and enhance reliability. They will have the opportunity to interact with our system modeling team, the distribution design team, the regional operating center, and local field operations. This is an important role to the Grid Planning organization and our business, because it lays out the ground work for the distribution system and it supports the reliable delivery of energy to our customers.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Pursuing a 4-year ABET Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related. Electrical Engineering preferred.

Must be a (rising junior) 2027, (rising sophomore) 2028

Min of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale

Experience with Microsoft Office products is desired.

Must be able to follow instructions and be a team player.

Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.

Solid engineering skills, commensurate with grade level.

Good communication skills, technical writing skills, and computer skills.

An inquisitive nature, an ability to follow written and verbal directions, and strong professional ethics.

Education Requirements

Major:

Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related.

Electrical Engineering preferred.

Anticipated Graduation Year: 2027 or later. Preferred 2027 or 2028.

GPA Requirements (Min): 2.5
