Job Summary

Energy Supply is an integral part of Power Generation. This department is the interface between the regulated generation fleet and PJM, ensuring Dominion Energy is represented correctly in the energy and ancillary markets. Key functions of Energy Supply include directing output of the fleet on a real-time basis, forecasting short- and long-term power demand, analyzing financial performance of the fleet, and managing contracts for our renewable portfolio. 

 

This intern position will support the Energy Supply organization with the following roles and responsibilities:  streamlining processes by creating and modifying existing spreadsheets and analytical dashboards and performing daily reporting of commodity and station data for Power Generation management.  In addition, the position will assist the Market Operations Center with daily tasks that include offering units to the PJM markets, testing unit dispatch and generation management software, performing analysis to optimize the company’s generation fleet, and assisting with drafting contractual agreements with outside entities.  Furthermore, the intern will engage with all Energy Supply employees, Power Generation management, and station personnel.  The intern will provide value to the department and the company by increasing work efficiency among the department’s employees and by bringing outside ideas and skills into the workplace.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools

Experience with analytical tools, such as Tableau and Power BI, a plus.

Education Requirements

Candidates must have an anticipated graduation date of Spring 2026 or 2027.

Business, Economics, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
