Job Summary
There is one position which will be filled at the level commensurate with the successful candidates education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities.
This role is to provide financial analysis, reporting and budgeting expertise related to Employee Benefits. This position is within the Human Resources Benefits - Retirement Income and Compliance Team and with a focus on administration and analysis.
The position will be responsible to:
- Assist in plan audits by functioning as the liaison between the auditors, accountants and plan specialist. This role requires research of audit questions in order to provide explanation to outside auditors.
- Coordinate corporate benefits budget and prepare monthly variance reports and analysis of budget variances.
- Prepare information for rate cases, and other requests such as information for lead/lag studies and posses the ability to provide timely responses to interrogatories
- Prepare various governmental filings such as PBGC filings, annual funding notice and Form 8955-SSA.
- Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements related to benefits.
- Coordinate data collection process for actuarial valuation.
- Review of actuarial report assumptions to plan document provisions.
- Provide information to other areas for preparation of external reports (Annual Report, 10-K, 10-Q).
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
Human Resources Specialist: 3+ years directly related experience to administration of benefits, specifically pension and 401k plans and/or accounting and financial analysis knowledge and experience. (Note: A Master's degree will count as one year of experience. A partial year of six months or more will be rounded up to one year)
Senior Human Resources Specialist: 5+ years directly related experience to administration of benefits, specifically pension and 401k plans and/or accounting and financial analysis knowledge and experience. (Note: A Master's degree will count as one year of experience. A partial year of six months or more will be rounded up to one year)
Other specific knowledge, skills, abilities and experience include:
- Experience with SAP or another similar ERP system is high preferred but not required
- Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and persuasion skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work with all levels of employees and to influence impact others.
- Excellent personal computer skills and in depth knowledge of Microsoft applications.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills including the ability to analyze data and utilize analysis to present options and recommendations.
- Strong ability to present concepts or programs in a group environment.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and direct work activities of team members when necessary.
- Excellent decision making skills.
- CPA preferred but not required
