HR Business Partner/Sr HR Business Partner

Job Summary

There is one position which will be filled at the level commensurate with the successful candidates education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities.

This role serves as an advisor to management and employees providing information to ensure company human resources programs, policies and procedures are administered in an effective, consistent and legal manner.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Identifies human resources needs for assigned groups within the business unit.
  • Collaborates and works with management and others in human resources community to develop strategies and plans to address needs identified and to integrate human resources strategies and plans with business strategies and plans.
  • Coordinates administration of broad array of human resources programs such as succession and workforce planning, test administration, transfer/relocation policy interpretation, staffing/position posting system, performance management, compensation/salary administration and pay for performance processing, leadership training, co-op and minority scholarship programs, etc.
  • Provides tools to address a wide variety of complex HR issues and initiatives including compliance, employee relations, investigations, equitable and consistent treatment of employees, change management and problem resolution.
  • May gather and compile data, perform analysis and make recommendations.
  • May provide interpretation of union contract to line management and attend and participate in grievance process by providing input and advice to management and employees.
  • May act as a resource for less experienced co-workers. May lead or coordinate HR initiatives or projects.


Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Human Resources Business Partner:  3+ years directly related knowledge and experience
Senior Human Resources Business Partner:  5+ years directly related knowledge and experience

Specific knowledge, skills, abilities and experience include:

  • Strong working knowledge of performance management, employee relations, pay and staffing trends and practices;
  • Knowledge of company organizational structure;
  • In depth knowledge of company policies, programs, procedures and relevant government regulations;
  • Strong planning and organizational skills;
  • Strong personal computer skills and in depth knowledge of Microsoft applications and SAP;
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills;
  • Strong problem solving skills. 

The company is actively seeking United States military veterans and service members who meet the qualifications outlined above.

  • Military service members and veterans with ranks from E5-E9, W1-CW5, or O3-O6, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience are encouraged to apply.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education.

Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description

Preferred:  Professional in Human Resources (PHR),  Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP
