Job Summary

Dominion Energy - Power Generation is actively seeking candidates to fill a Generation Project Manager position to lead projects for electric utility power generation facilities (non-Nuclear). The projects include implementing or enhancing cyber security for Industrial Control Systems (ICS) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and their respective networks in OT (operational technology) environments. 
This position manages projects/programs from conception through closure.  Candidates must be highly motivated, able to work with minimal supervision and have effective communication skills. Candidates must be organized and effectively lead cross functional multi-disciplined teams of both internal and external resources. 
The Generation Project Manager position will be based at 600 East Canal Street, Richmond Virginia, 23219.  Travel to power stations will be required on a periodic basis. The project profile typically includes 10-25 active projects annually in varying phases of implementation.

Description

  • Manages multiple major projects generally between $500K - $50M.
  • Responsible for development and management of the PG Cyber Security multi-year project plan, to include development of project request forms and estimates.
  • Accountable for project success, customer satisfaction, project execution and delivery.
  • Manages project risk through collaboration with the stakeholders.
  • Oversees scoping, planning, estimating, scheduling, resource planning, and procurement activities for all assigned projects, including integration with non-related project work during major outages.
  • Coordinates engineering resources by working proactively with Power Generation Engineering and 3rd party engineering, as necessary.
  • Ensures that a comprehensive, current scope of work and division of responsibility are maintained to include all vendor and Dominion scopes.
  • Supports the development, implementation, and management of contracts with suppliers and contractors, and supports material procurement and resources for project development and implementation.
  • Maintains project electronic files.
  • Responsible for coordination and communication of engineering, implementation, and commissioning activities.
  • Ensures turnover documentation, drawings, specifications, and training guides are provided to designated personnel.
  • Ensures all projects are executed with Safety and Environmental Compliance as the primary focus.
  • Manages or supports specific phases of projects including project development, permitting (local jurisdictions), scope development, contract negotiations (products, equipment, services, etc.), engineering & design, onsite activities, installation & commissioning, and turnover.
  • Manages the approved project financial spend plan and cost forecast, making decisions to meet project financial goals.
  • Utilizes the departmental Tollgate process to manage the various stages of each project.
  • Effectively communicates up to multiple levels of management and provides weekly reports for each fleet-wide project.
     

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The knowledge, skills, abilities and experiences that are required for entry into this job include the following:

At least five (5) years of experience managing projects or managing multi-functional teams in a matrix environment and at least (7) years of experience with electric utility power generation facilities (non-Nuclear).

  • Leads multiple projects simultaneously over a large geographic territory and manages stakeholder team representing different departments and interests.
  • Technical knowledge of power plant systems, renewable power generation, and plant operations.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and experience with cyber assets common to power generation facilities.
  • Demonstrates experience in evaluating project work for Capital and O&M classification.
  • Analyzes information and make sound decisions including coordinating the resolution of technical problems and implementing changes.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and strong experience in Project Management and leadership in the assigned project areas.
  • Experience with personal computer and Microsoft software (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook).
  • Strong team building skills and demonstrates skills and ability in effectively leading teams to achieve project goals and milestones.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including interpersonal and presentation capabilities.
  • Develops, manages and monitors project performance to ensure results meet project requirements and schedules.
  • Foster working relationships across multiple groups.

Education Requirements

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelor

Preferred Disciplines: Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or Construction Management.

Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred discipline(s) listed above

Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description

Preferred:  Professional Engineer (PE)

Other: Project Management certification preferred. Millstone must meet ANSI N18.1-1971, Section 4.6.2
