Job Summary

Works in GIS and database applications which model electric utility distribution systems. Requires understanding of functional business processes as they relate to design, construction and operations and working understanding of data attributes that support these business processes. Requires ability to create a connected model that replicates the electric distribution system.  This system is the backbone for Dominion Energy Operations, including Outage Management, Customer Management, Billing, Maintenance, Switching and Safety. Performs and manages QA/QC processes. Must be available to work emergency and planned overtime.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The knowledge, skills, abilities and experience required for entry into this job include the following:

0-2 years of experience, knowledge of electric utility distribution systems.

Directly related experience includes GIS database or mapping systems, Drafting, Construction Inspection or Survey. Good computer skills and proficiency working in various software applications such as Microsoft Suite.
Problem resolution; ability to address multiple tasks simultaneously; ability to handle changing and emerging priorities. Interpersonal; customer service; verbal and written communication skills. 
CAD type drawing skills. Analytical and detail oriented. Experience using TRSi and SAP CORE. 

Education Requirements

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:

Associate

Preferred Disciplines: Computer Science, Drafting and Design, Engineering Technology, Geography

Other discipline may be substitured for the preferred discipline listed above

 

Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description

Preferred:  Certificate of Proficiency in GIS from a training center, technical college or university.
