Job Summary

There is one position which will be filled at the level commensurate with the successful candidates education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities.

This position will support the Dominion Energy Virginia (DEV) Consolidation Finance & Business Services team in achieving short-term and long-term business strategies.  One person will be hired at either the analyst or senior analyst level based on the candidates’ qualifications and work experience.

This position supports development and maintenance of the Company's consolidated budget/forecast as well as corporate strategy. Assists in development and monitoring of corporate strategy. Supports budget development and consolidation process to ensure timeliness and financial accuracy. Provides analysis and presentation preparation in support of investment decisions going before Investment Review Committee. Supports review, update and communication of cost of capital utilized for business and investment decisions.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Support financial reporting, case management processes and strategic initiatives related to State regulatory proceedings for Dominion Energy Virginia, primarily related to Rate Adjustment Clauses or Riders, construction of new assets, and rate tariffs including subsequent regulatory inquiries, proceedings, and filings
  • Establish timelines and coordinate all relevant data submittals needed to prepare DEV regulatory Rider cost Recovery filings and Five-Year Plan earnings updates
  • Prepare long-term revenue requirement Excel models needed for DEV regulatory Rider cost recovery filings and Five-Year Plan earnings updates
  • Maintain long-term revenue requirement calculations in the Company's system, Anaplan, for assigned projects, including income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement and revenue requirement impact to customers.                                                               - Identify and troubleshoot needed system enhancements and process improvements related to the semi-annual Five-Year Plan update submittals.
  • Monitor activity for all regulatory proceedings that impact the DEV business unit.  Maintain a summary and timeline of regulatory activity used to support data requests for regulatory proceedings, and to support executive regulatory activity discussions and update meetings
  • Perform ad hoc financial analyses as needed to support daily operational decisions. 

Financial/Budget Analyst: Level Indicator Within 3 Level Job Series; Career Level-fully competent in a job series. (All core responsibilities are proficiently performed.)

Sr. Financial/Sr. Budget Analyst: Senior Level-highest proficiency level in series. (Mastery of the subject matter or diversified knowledge of principles and practice in broad areas of assignments and related fields.)

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

*Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications; A master’s degree can count as one year experience

Financial/Budget Analyst: A minimum of 3+ years of relevant financial experience is required

Senior Financial/Senior Budget Analyst: 5+ years of directly related experience is required 

Relevant experience includes but is not limited to, corporate financial management and analysis, complex accounting standards and practices, corporate-scale budget forecasting, corporate tax, and/or other similiar corporate & financial regulatory filings
Extensive knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
Excellent leadership; organizational; interpersonal; verbal and written communication
Teaming, analytical and customer focus skills
Strong analytical skills and a focus on attention to detail
Requires ability to work under limited supervision and direction
Ability to work under tight deadlines
Demonstrated expertise in consolidated financial planning and analysis; capital allocation; understanding of accounting, tax, regulatory and financing principles
Aptitude for continuous learning
Experience with SAP, BPC and Anaplan financial modeling tool preferred, but not required
