We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Military service members and veterans with ranks from E5-E9, W1-CW5, or O3-O6, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below will be considered for this opportunity.

Job Summary

This role has responsibility for supporting Dominion with regard to Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) policy. This role performs research and analyses and summarizes potential, draft and existing FERC rules and policy. The position supports the development of FERC policy strategy via participating in meetings with internal and external stakeholders and assists in drafting FERC policy positions that may be shared with trade groups and regulators. The role monitors and analyzes regulatory changes at FERC by following FERC meetings, trade association meetings, and other meetings and forums where FERC policy is made.  The position drafts internal communications such as newsletters and power points and maintains a SharePoint site – all to help coordinate policy input from various stakeholder groups throughout the company and communicate important FERC policy initiatives. Participates in stakeholder and regulatory processes related to FERC policy. Establishes and maintains constructive working relationships with key regulatory staff members, peer utilities and industry trade associations. Additional duty for Level II or Level III: Advocates for the company's business interests in stakeholder and regulatory forums.

 

The position will be filled at the level commensurate with the successful candidate’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Level I: 0-2 years related experience 
Level II: 2-5 years related experience
Level III: 5+ years related experience 

  • Effective oral communication, written communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong MS Word, SharePoint and Excel skills.
  • Ability to evaluate and recommend courses of action, in response to inquiries.
  • Knowledge of energy policy.
  • Knowledge of the energy industry.
  • Consensus-building and team-building skills.
  • Ability to analyze independently.
  • Ability to be diplomatic and persuasive.
  • Ability to operate effectively across all organization levels, including executives.
  • Ability to represent Dominion Energy effectively, at internal and external forums, on FERC policy.

Education Requirements

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:
Bachelor

Preferred Discipline(s): Bachelor preferred in public policy, government, economics, political science or a similar energy degree.  
Other relevant degrees may be substituted.
