Environmental Compliance Coordinator - Facilities Management

Job Summary

Dominion's Facilities Group is looking for a motivated and experienced Environmental Compliance Coordinator to support Facilities' projects across the Dominion Energy footprint.

Will be responsible for managing the Facilities organization’s programs for Stormwater Management, Management of Change, Compliance Plans, Incident Management, QA/QC Peer review process, and Training. Ensuring that Environmental Regulatory Alerts issued by corporate Environmental Services applicable at the project and field level are appropriately communicated and incorporated into Facilities operational or construction practices or procedures, as appropriate. Manage and modify, as needed, the cross functional, multi- level written procedure to address internal communications of environmental related events which includes environmental incidents, non-compliances or near misses. Will conduct root cause analysis with short term, long term and global corrective actions, as appropriate. Administer an Environmental compliance training plan to educate employees on both their overall obligations and on specific environmental risk areas related to their jobs. Develop and modify written Compliance Plans and Written Standard Operating Procedures aligning the tasks with the applicable permit and regulatory requirements. Manage Facilities environmental compliance data management in accordance with written Operating Procedures and the requirements established by the Corporate Environmental and Sustainability Team for regulatory reporting, environmental performance trending and metrics tracking. Conduct periodic systematic risk assessments that identify potential environmental risks. Oversee the risk based self-assessment process; and must develop short term, long term and global corrective action plans, monitoring and closure tracking corrective actions to drive continuous improvement processes. Performs other duties as requested or assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The company is actively seeking United States military veterans and service members who meet the qualifications outline below.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 4 years of related experience and an Associate's degree; or Bachelor's degree plus at least 2 years relevant experience
  • Note: A partial year of work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of related environmental regulations and applicable environmental permits
  • Ability to develop, implement and administer complex environmental compliance plans and processes
  • Ability to interpret and/or apply environmental requirements to company operations and translate regulatory regulations, permit and plan requirements into understandable compliance guidance
  • Ability to prepare and/or review compliance and regulatory documents and reports
  • Strong technical writing, communication and public relations skills
  • Strong data analysis and record keeping skills
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, to include Word, Excel and Power Point)
  • Excellent organizational, time management and leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently and to be self-directed
  • Ability to work in field environments
  • Ability to manage contract resources
  • Ability to diplomatically handle sensitive situations with regulatory agencies, the public, and company personnel at all levels
  • Must possess a valid drivers' license
