After initial training period, we offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Job Summary
Dominion Energy's Electric Transmission System Operations Center (ET SOC) is seeking a candidate to provide advanced technical support focused on enhancing operation efficiency and accuracy utilizing Operational Software (iTOA) and Energy Management System (EMS) software. This role will be heavily involved with updating, modifying and documenting processes using Operational Software (iTOA). This role does not function as a technician in modifying, operating or maintaining systems or equipment.
Responsibilities include:
- Provides technical support and assistance in analyzing, evaluating, and updating computer systems, software, databases, equipment and programs.
- Plans and conducts work and assists in the evaluation, selection, adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria.
- Assists with devising new approaches to problems encountered and in developing engineering criteria ensuring compliance with design criteria and standards.
- Implements technology within an System Operations and Engineering field.
- May perform product improvement, testing, field engineering, development, manufacturing, construction, systems development, quality control, and operational engineering.
- May provide or assist with technical project management including scoping, scheduling, budget development, cost tracking and oversight of complex projects to meet cost and time objectives.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
- Relevant work experience:
- 0-2+ years for Engineering Technical Specialist I
- 2+ years for Engineering Technical Specialist II
- 5-6+ years for Engineering Technical Specialist III
- Oral and written communication skills, including technical writing.
- Detail orientend and technically proficient with IT systems.
- Ability to read Substation Operating, Substation Construction and System Protection drawings and diagrams.
- Effective decision making skills
- Ability to think analytically and solve complex problems
- Ability to process information quickly and manage multiple tasks
- Ability to work effectively independently or in a team environment
- Organization skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Skilled knowledge of computers, keyboarding skills and the use of Microsoft office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook), software database programs and other applicable operational software programs.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Associate’s degree and an additional 2+ years of related experience
High School Diploma and an additional 4+ years of related experience
Must either:
- Possess a 4-Year Engineering Technology Degree or 4-year degree in Engineering (not ABET-accredited), or
- Posses a 4-Year degree in Electronics, Electrical, Math, Computer Engieering, Computer Science or related discipline
- Possess an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience
