Electric Transmission Data Systems Analyst - (Richmond, VA)

Job Summary

This role will be supporting the Substation Equipment Data Management group in Electric Transmission Substation Operations.

 

With limited supervision, develop and maintain data systems supporting business unit monitoring, analytics, and asset management activities. Work with subject matter experts in engineering, compliance, and asset management to understand business needs and develop system requirements.  Lead the bar-coding initiate for the Electrical Equipment group by working with equipment vendors to develop required QR codes.  Develop electronic user forms to capture equipment information and test data.  Under direction of Senior or Lead Level team members, perform unit coding and testing as part of larger and more complex software systems.  Assist with coordination between end-user business groups and local and enterprise level IT support groups to obtain needed resources and integrate new development with existing systems. Perform Sharepoint site development and other activities requiring elevated privileges to ensure business applications continue to meet changing business needs. Test new versions of software to ensure continued functionality and compatibility with other systems.  Provide support to field technicians for software and/or computer related issues.  Serve as liaison with IT support groups when issues arise; communicate business needs to them and ensure issues are being resolved to business’s satisfaction. Provide training and assistance to less experienced team members.
 

Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
 

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

 

3+ years directly related experience (Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications)

 

  • Basic knowledge of SAP Enterprise Asset Management is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of operating system concepts 
  • Basic proficiency with SQL queries is required
  • Experience with implementing, installing, and managing software updates and patches along with any new technology
  • Demonstrated proficiency with building software solutions to solve moderately complex problems
  • Basic knowledge of SharePoint site development and administration concepts
  • Strong planning, organizational and project management skills with the ability to facilitate and/or work on multiple project teams simultaneously
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Detail-oriented and quality-focused
  • Knowledge of compliance regulations and policies
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
