Electric T&D Projects Manager II (Multiple Locations)

Job Summary

We are looking to fill multiple vacancies for project management experts to join our Electric Distribution Project Management team.  The candidates selected will be assigned to one of the following offices:  West Broad, Midlothian, Norfolk, Hampton, VA Beach, Herndon, or Chesapeake.

•    This role is responsible for providing project management of complex Electric Transmission or Distribution projects and/or ownership of a Federal Privatization Contract. 
•    Typically, lower volume and higher financial impact projects such as load projects, circuit or VDOT rearrangements, interconnect projects, substation work, new or expansion, capital upgrade projects, nontraditional work. 
•    Ensures project results meet requirements and provides timely and accurate information and status updates to management and internal and external customers.
•    Responsible for complex scope, cost development, validation and/or Government cost quotes, complex permitting, work plans, and environmental studies. 
•    Multi-process responsibility for on base activities. 
•    Active participation in Re-determination negotiations.
•       Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

•    7-8+ years demonstrated experience in project management, relevant technologies, and in the project area.
•    Ability to work and develop rapport with all levels of management and staff.
•    Ability to represent the project and the company in public forums.
•    Strong team building skills.
•    Effective negotiating skills.
•    Strong verbal and written communication skills, including interpersonal, facilitation, and presentation capabilities.
•    Ability to manage multiple priorities.
 

Education Requirements

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:

•    Bachelor
•    Preferred Disciplines:  Business, Engineering, Engineering Technology
