Job Summary

DVI (Dominion Voltage Inc.), a Dominion Energy company, was established to bring to market Dominion Energy’s unique approach to Energy Distribution & Grid Efficiency. Our solutions enable utilities to plan, manage, and validate investments in grid-optimization while delivering significant savings. 

The Lead DVI (Dominion Voltage Inc.) Sales Account Executive Manager position plays an integral role in the leading sales team to ensure the optimal application of technology and engineering resources to meet product development and/or customer support requirements. 

  • The primary responsibilities for this position are to serve as the sales leader, managing a small team of sales account executives to meet and exceed revenue goals and performing direct sales on a select number of key accounts. 
  • Take the lead in RFP response or bids;
  • Manage the day-to-day sales effort including developing and executing tactical sales forecasts, monitoring sales quotas, sales territories, sales objectives and revenue expectations;
  • Collaborate with partners to ensure the delivery of customized high value product solutions and ongoing sales support systems for targeted customers;
  • Develop and maintain a solid understanding of smart grid technologies; Support sales team with client meetings and presentations;
  • Build strong relationships with clients throughout the sales life cycle; Work closely with colleagues in Product Development & Customer Solutions to meet individual client needs;
  • Coordinate solutions design with sales team to ensure accuracy and feasibility;
  • Maintain knowledge of trends within markets and industries; recognize and address sales barriers to Conservation Voltage Reduction software;
  • Develop and manage distribution channel relationships to broaden entry into market (partner platform);
  • Evaluate regulatory landscape and operating characteristics of potential customers and implications; develop related strategies; and execute plan to promote sales growth and future opportunities;
  • Develop and utilize relationships with IOUs, co-ops and municipalities.
  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The knowledge, skills, abilities and experiences that are required for entry into this job include the following:

  • 10+ years of utility sales experience
  • Technology sales experience with IOUs, coops, and municipals
  • Ability to translate complex technical knowledge for sales use
  • Experience with AMI, Demand Response, and Energy Efficiency related technologies is mandatory
  • Strong business development and an active professional network of contacts in with key smart grid technology buyers at all utility types
  • Knowledge of high tech sales cycles
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory legal policies and their impact on sales
  • Experience with electric T&D systems
  • Strong leadership, management, and team building skills
  • Skilled speaker and presenter, able to develop and provide compelling technical information to prospective customers
  • Ability to exercise effective judgment, sensitivity, creativity to changing needs and situations
  • Work well in a highly dynamic, entrepreneurial team environment that provides above industry standard customer service

Education Requirements

Education Level: Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelor

Disciplines: Preferred: Engineering
