We offer a hybrid work schedule (one week in the office, one week of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Job Summary

The Project Construction business unit is seeking qualified individuals with solar development, permitting, diligence, contracting, procurement, construction, and project closeout experience for various positions on our utility scale and distributed energy solar project teams.  Depending on assignment and qualifications, successful candidates will manage all various aspects of assigned solar projects, such as technical, construction, quality, cost, and schedule. Capable of development and management of project budget and schedule, ensuring alignment with the project scope and objectives. Primary point of contact with internal and external stakeholders, contractors, and vendors to ensure timely and efficient delivery of project deliverables. Support the development, execution, and commissioning of the solar project, including adherence to safety standards, system turnover packages, system walkdowns, punch list management, coordination with operations, and system documentation. Identify and implement opportunities for improvement and innovation in solar project management processes and practices. Significant complex projects encompass new generation plants, site, retrofits and environmental initiatives, and other large-scale complex initiatives for construction and operational effectiveness. Guides the tasks of team members, including contractor staff, to aid project-related activities. Oversees the project's budget and timeline.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

 The knowledge, skills, abilities and experience required for entry into this job include the following:

 

Construction Project Manager I 0-2 years of related experience
Construction Project Manager II 3+ years of related experience
Construction Project Manager III 5+ years of related experience

 

Experience in managing complex and high-impact projects in the same or related domain and delivering value to the organization and stakeholders. Extensive knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, tools and best practices, and in-depth knowledge of the specific domain, industry, and market. Exceptional skills in leading, motivating, and empowering project teams, and in negotiation, conflict resolution, and stakeholder management. Ability to initiate, plan, execute, monitor, control, and close projects within time, cost, and quality constraints, and to leverage project management tools and software. Ability to foster a collaborative and positive project culture, and to anticipate, mitigate, and resolve project issues and risks. Ability to adapt to changing project requirements, priorities, and environments, and to apply agile and flexible approaches when needed.

 

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with solar development and/or construction project management, budgeting, scheduling, and risk analysis. Knowledge of power generation, transmission, distribution, and/or energy markets. Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, both verbally and in writing. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. 

Education Requirements

Education Level: Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelors

Disciplines preferred: Engineering, Construction Management, Business or related degrees that are applicable to Project Construction in utilities.

Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description

         

Preferred: EIT, PE, PMP, PMI-CP
