We offer a hybrid work schedule (one week in the office, one week of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Job Summary

A Project Manager is needed to manage utility-scale Solar projects through the Development/Pre-construction phases. The Solar Project Construction department is responsible for managing solar projects from development and design through procurement, permitting, construction, and closeout. This role focuses on activities ahead of active construction and includes managing the project through all or specific portions of site diligence, design, EPC contracting, materials procurement, or permitting. Responsibilities in this role include:

  • Manage all aspects (specific aspects for Construction Project Manager II) of projects assigned, such as technical, construction, quality, cost, and schedule.
  • Capable of development and management of project budget and schedule, ensuring alignment with the project scope and objectives.
  • Primary point of contact with internal and external stakeholders, contractors, and vendors to ensure timely and efficient delivery of project deliverables.
  • Support the development of the project, including design, contracting, procurement, permitting, and documentation.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for improvement and innovation in project management processes and practices.
  • Significant complex projects encompassing new solar generation plants.
  • Guides the tasks of team members to aid project-related activities.
  • Oversees the project's budget and timeline.

The Construction Project Manager III  may have Non-Dominion Energy Workers (NDEWs) report to them.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

  • Construction Project Manager II: 3+ years of experience in managing complex and high-impact projects in the same or related domain and delivering value to the organization and stakeholders.
  • Construction Project Manager III: 5+ years of experience in managing complex and high-impact projects in the same or related domain and delivering value to the organization and stakeholders.
  • Extensive knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, tools and best practices, and in-depth knowledge of the specific domain, industry, and market.
  • Exceptional skills in leading, motivating, and empowering project teams, and in negotiation, conflict resolution, and stakeholder management.
  • Ability to initiate, plan, execute, monitor, control, and close projects within time, cost, and quality constraints, and to leverage project management tools and software.
  • Ability to foster a collaborative and positive project culture, and to anticipate, mitigate, and resolve project issues and risks.
  • Ability to adapt to changing project requirements, priorities, and environments, and to apply agile and flexible approaches when needed.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with project management, budgeting, scheduling, and risk analysis.
  • Knowledge of solar power generation, transmission, distribution, and energy markets.
  • Knowledge of civil site plans and/or environmental considerations in site development.
  • Experience in local permitting (Conditional Use/Zoning, Land Disturbance, Construction General, etc.) and regulations.
  • Experience in contracts administration, including negotiating with suppliers, evaluating and processing change orders, and reviewing and processing legal notices.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Education Requirements

Education Level: Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelors

Disciplines preferred: Engineering, Construction Management, Business or related degrees that are applicable to Project Construction in utilities.

Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description

GWO is required for positions required to support Offshore Wind.          

Preferred: EIT, PE, PMP, PMI-CP
