Job Summary
Manage specific aspects of the project as assigned by the project manager or leader, such as technical, construction, quality, cost, and schedule. Support the development and management of specific portions of the project budget and schedule, ensuring alignment with the project scope and objectives. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, contractors, and vendors to ensure timely and efficient delivery of project deliverables. Support the development, execution, and commissioning of the project, including adherence to safety standards, system turnover packages, system walkdowns, punch list management, coordination with operations, and system documentation. Provide regular and accurate reports on project status, milestones, risks, and issues to the project manager or leader and other relevant parties. Identify and implement opportunities for improvement and innovation in project management processes and practices. Significant complex projects might encompass new generation plants (like coal, combined cycle, solar, storage, wind, or nuclear), retrofits, environmental initiatives, and other large-scale complex endeavors. Contribute to the overall success of the project and carry out additional tasks as requested or given.
Additional duties include:
- Involved in major complex generation projects focused on Small Modular Reactors (SMR).
- Support to ensure advancement and growth of the SMR Program through project development and construction.
- Supports the management of specific portions of project scope, budget and schedule and can provide accurate, concise updates to management.
- Support field team to ensure EPC contract and/or purchase agreements are appropriately implemented, and project is constructed to efficiently provide to our Operations team.
- Typically reports to a Project Construction Manager.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
Construction Project Manager II: 3+ years of experience in leading and managing complex projects in the same or related domain.
Construction Project Manager III: 5+ years of experience in managing complex and high-impact projects in the same or related domain and delivering value to the organization and stakeholders.
Has solid knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, tools and best practices, and applies them to solve project problems and issues. Demonstrates skills in leading, motivating, and coaching project teams and stakeholders, and in managing changes, risks, and uncertainties. Communicates clearly and professionally with diverse audiences, using appropriate verbal, written, and visual techniques. Ability to initiate, plan, execute, monitor, control, and close complex projects within time, cost, and quality constraints, using project management tools and software. Ability to create and sustain a positive project culture, adapt to changing project requirements and environments, and implement lessons learned and best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with project management, budgeting, scheduling, and risk analysis. Knowledge of power generation, transmission, distribution, and energy markets. Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, both verbally and in writing. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
Education Requirements
Education Level: Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelors
Disciplines preferred: Engineering, Construction Management, Business or related degrees that are applicable to Project Construction in utilities.
Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description
GWO is required for positions required to support Offshore Wind.
Preferred: EIT, PE, PMP, PMI-CP
