Job Summary

Dominion Energy is seeking a strong leader to manage commissioning of an LNG Storage/Combined Cycle Back-up Fuel facility in Virginia.  This position will report directly to a Director.  The successful candidate will work with the site construction team to commission all the systems within the scope of the LNG Storage project.  The position will involve documenting, planning, testing, verification, and turnover of systems from the EPC contractor to the Dominion Energy operations team.  This position requires hiring contract and/or direct labor to support commissioning efforts on the project.  The following are the skills required to be successful in the position:

Establish and maintain effective communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, contractors, and vendors. Oversee the development, execution, and commissioning of the project, ensuring adherence to safety standards, quality requirements, and contractual obligations. Identify and implement opportunities for improvement and innovation in project management processes and practices. Regularly report the project's progress, performance, any problems, and potential risks to the Director or General Manager. Advise senior leadership, offering expert guidance on project planning, execution, and risk management. Support business development initiatives by identifying and pursuing new project opportunities. Develop and execute comprehensive project strategies that align with the company’s long-term goals.

 

The role may have Non-Dominion Energy Workers (NDEWs) report to them.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience:

  • Demonstrated leadership experience leading project commissioning teams.
  • 8–10+ years of experience managing major engineering, procurement, and construction projects or related capital programs.
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles, project controls, contract administration, construction, and commissioning activities.
  • Excellent technical, analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects through planning, execution, and commissioning.
  • Experience developing project commissioning plans and schedules.
  • Experience interpreting and administering complex contract requirements.
  • Ability to compile, analyze, and present project data to senior management and executive leadership.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, project scheduling software, databases, and project management systems.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 59A, ASME B31.3, API 620, and ASME Section VIII codes is preferred.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience managing large EPC project commissioning activities.
  • 10+ years’ experience in large EPC project commissioning.
  • Education Requirements

 

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related technical discipline preferred.  Equivalent experience in industry will be considered.

Education Requirements

Education Level: Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelors

Disciplines preferred: Engineering, Construction Management, Business or related degrees that are applicable to Project Construction in utilities.

Preferred Education:

Bachelor’s Degree: Business Administration or Engineering.
Master’s Degree: Business Administration or Engineering.

Expected Hiring Base Salary Range:

 

$131800 - $171200

 

The expected hiring base salary range is the range we anticipate hiring within for this position. The actual salary offered may vary based on factors such as the selected candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, and work location.
