We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Military service members and veterans with ranks from E3-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O3, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below will be considered for this opportunity.

Job Summary

In this role, the successful candidate will serve as a trusted communications advisor. Collaborating closely with key stakeholders, leaders, and project teams, the successful candidate will manage full life cycle strategic communications and marketing of Dominion Energy programs, policies, and procedures. Our partners can count on us to translate their vision, strategy, and initiatives into compelling and effective messaging in support of organizational and corporate goals.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted communications advisor and change agent.
  • Research, create, present, and execute strategic communications plans to raise awareness, educate, and/or inspire action or participation.
  • Assist with identifying opportunities to promote enterprise-wide priorities.
  • Proactively offer creative solutions for clear, engaging, and relevant communications.
  • Develop compelling written communications, including enterprise-wide emails, talking points, FAQs, presentations, newsletters, and intranet content.
  • Provide input to the editorial strategy and content development process for sharing updates.
  • Support cross-functional communications teams in developing and executing plans to ensure alignment of strategies and messaging.
  • Measure the effectiveness of communications strategies.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Communications Specialist:  2-5 years of experience in communications and/or marketing and change management (note; A Master's degree will count as one year of experience).

Sr. Communications Specialist:  5+ years of experience in communications and/or marketing and change management (note; A Master's degree will count as one year of experience.)

Specific knowledge, skills, abilities and experience:

 

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills and a high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to be proactive and think critically and strategically
  • High degree of agility and flexibility
  • Ability to simplify complex information and develop clear communications
  • Proven track record for staying current on latest communication trends
  • Excellent computer skills and in-depth knowledge of Microsoft applications
  • Strong interpersonal and persuasion skills and an ability to build consensus quickly
  • Demonstrated project management, time management and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to deliver outstanding customer service
  • Strong relationship-building skills and experience working with senior leaders
  • Experience with video production is a plus but is not required

Education Requirements

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelor

Preferred Disciplines:  Journalism, Mass Communications
