Job Summary

Dominion Energy is looking for an individual to plan and execute sourcing strategies for power delivery construction services. This individual will work with Supply Chain Management leadership, finance, sourcing specialists and internal engineering and operations to develop and execute bid strategies and initiatives. The primary area of focus will be overhead and underground distribution line construction, to include capital, operations and maintenance work.
 

The successful candidate will be responsible for total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis and support execution of strategic initiatives. This individual will work proactively with business unit customers on strategic sourcing and support the development of negotiation and contract management strategies. The Category Management Specialist will analyze relevant markets and assess cost impacts for market events in utility distribution construction, maintain supplier lists and build partnerships with strategic suppliers. On a daily basis, this individual will work with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve challenges, manage supplier relationships and execute on cost savings and process improvements.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

5+ years of Procurement, Supply Chain, Supplier Management, Risk Management, Process Management, Project Management or relevant technical experience. (Note:  A Master's degree will count as one year of experience.  A partial year of experience of six months or more will be rounded up to one year.).  Although not required, the successful candidate ideally has prior experience in procurement teams, leading projects, contract negotiations, risk activities, compliance, and/or sourcing events (strongly preferred).

Other specific knowledge, skills, abilities and experience include:
 

  • Sourcing experience with construction services (preferred)
  • General knowledge of utility and construction service markets
  • Strong understanding of business cost drivers
  • Ability to work effectively with groups at different company locations with limited in person interaction is required
  • Hands-on understanding of business processes and objectives
  • Excellent project management skills with ability to resolve problems and remove barriers to success
  • Ability to navigate organization and influence decisions  
  • Ability to support the development and implementation of a structured negotiation strategy
  • Strong analytic toolset that will support the creation of financial targets, detailed analysis of spend data, and structure of TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) models
  • Strong mentoring skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently
