We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Job Summary

This role is part of the Analytics, Quality, and Training (AQT) team within the Customer Billing Services Department. It focuses on analyzing, evaluating, and recommending improvements across multiple project teams to ensure efficiency, consistency, and compliance.   This team consists of highly skilled Customer Billing Reps and Business Process and Performance Analysts who work collaboratively to support and achieve the Customer Billing Services mission of ensuring accurate and timely billing for all DEV/NC electric residential, commercial, industrial, governmental, non-traditional, and choice customers.   

 

Depending on business need, specific responsibilities of this role include the following:

Oversee various billing processes, resources, and special projects to ensure efficiency, consistency, and an excellent customer experience. Analyze & bill complex accounts and work collaboratively with other business partners to meet organizational goals . Conduct training, assessments, creating/maintaining job articles, and managing contracted supplemental billing team. Coordinate workload and assist contracted team with escalated process inquires to ensure prompt resolution, as needed. Participate in and facilitate weekly strategy meetings with contracted resource team and internal stakeholders to ensure process alignment. Conduct monthly compliance audits of work completed by contracted team . Track defect/enhancement tickets and collaborate with IT and CORE teams to provide business requirements, user acceptance testing, and implement effective change management for billing-impactful defects and enhancements. Support EDI billing process and bill print vendor compliance and USPS postage costs initiatives. Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the business processes within the Customer Billing Team. Support storm activities during storm restoration efforts. Perform other duties as requested or assigned.   

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Mid level: 3+ years of directly related experience. 

Sr. level: 5+ years of directly related eperience.

 

  • Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to facilitate and/or work on multiple project teams simultaneously.  
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, particularly in describing complex details to technical and non-technical audiences, with demonstrated ability in positively influencing outcomes with key stakeholders. Ability to exercise independent judgment and decision-making, along with knowledge of when to get others involved.  
  • Ability to develop business cases to support recommendations, monitor the progress associated with the implementation of recommended changes, and adjust when needed with a flexible mindset to maximize effectiveness. 
  • Proficient in application of business process improvement methodology, benchmarking, and change management.  
  • Strong customer service orientation.  
  • Proficient in S4 SAP Core Back Office and company policies and procedures, terms and conditions, and rate structures.
  • Proficient with SQL, Power BI, or other automation tools. 

Education Requirements

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:

Bachelor 

Preferred Discipline(s):  Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance
