We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Job Summary
The Distributed Energy Resources (DER) Business Development (BD) Team is responsible for the development and acquisition of solar energy generation interconnected to the medium voltage electric distribution system. The team’s objective is to develop and or acquire projects that meet the needs and goals of Dominion Energy, our customers, our shareholders, and the Commonwealth of Virginia. The DER Team is expected to innovate and adapt to ever changing market dynamics to achieve our objectives. Our development portfolio includes brownfield, greenfield, carport, rooftop, and agrivoltaic solar facilities.
The Business Development Manager participates and leads significant components of project development and acquisition/partnership commercial activities. Responsibilities include supporting or leading site evaluation and selection, financial evaluation, environmental and local permitting, evaluation of interconnection permissions, obtaining land rights, and leading and managing projects for the development of energy infrastructure in the electric businesses. Additional functions include supporting and pursuing growth strategies and opportunities, leading evaluation, analysis and due diligence activities, and participating in negotiations for prospective energy infrastructure acquisition/partnership and development opportunities. The Business Development Manager is a key participant in negotiations of project contracts and agreements, pro forma financial modeling and analysis, preparation of regulatory and governmental filings, executive level communications, preparation of governance materials and public presentations. The role involves leading croff-functional internal and external teams from multiple disciplines including construction, operations, external affairs, corporate communications, legal, tax, accounting, environmental, risk management, fuels, treasury, public policy, community engagement, investor relations and financial analysis.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
The knowledge, skills, abilities and experiences that are required for entry into this job include the following:
A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience is required (financial analysis, project management, account management, contract negotiations, project development, or other similar roles). Knowledge of electric and/or gas project development and production business and energy markets generally acquired through related work experience. Strong financial analysis skills, including ability to review and make investment recommendations based on pro forma financial statement inputs and results. Experience in commercial contract negotiations, acquisition and divestiture activities, and development of large energy infrastructure projects is preferred. Strong leadership and communication abilities (oral/written/presentation/interpersonal) to drive results in a team environment under minimal direction with internal and external customers. Ability to analyze information and make strategic business decisions. Strong organizational, risk analysis, and project planning/execution skills are also required. Must be able to effectively prioritize multiple key project efforts. Demonstrated computer skills including all MS Office applications.
