Job Summary

The Corporate Intelligence & Security group is looking to hire four Associate Physical Security Analysts or Physical Security Analysts to join their team in Richmond, Virginia. This position will support the growth of DE's Electric Transmission group throughout Virginia. 
 

Responsibilities include:  
 

  • Provides analytical and tactical support for a centralized, security operations center.
  • Utilizes sophisticated security systems and technologies for intrusion analysis, subtle event detection, video analytics, and incident management.
  • Manages multiple, electronic access control systems, to monitor and facilitate response to automated alarm systems.
  • Assesses and investigates security events, to determine associated threats and appropriate responses.
  • Exercises independent decision making in a high-stress environment.
  • Manages multiple priorities with consistent results.
  • Performs complex analysis, using automated and manual systems.
  • Assesses incoming threat streams, to develop accurate conclusions on security events at monitored sites.
  • Utilizes strong, critical thinking skills, to evaluate suspicious activities and pre-operational indicators at or near company sites.
  • Documents security incidents, alarm activity, and alarm responses timely and accurately.
  • Adheres to and updates departmental, security operating procedures.
  • Manages emergency notification procedures in accordance with company response plans. Interacts with law enforcement during routine operations, drills, or emergencies at company facilities.
  • Assumes primary responsibility for response to emergency contingencies, for all company facilities.
  • Supports regulatory compliance for access control systems.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Associate Physical Security Analyst: 0 to 2 years directly-related, general knowledge of security in a public-safety emergency center, government fusion center, or in an investigative or analytical role in law enforcement, corporate security, regulatory, fusion center, or other investigative agency or organization.

Physical Security Analyst: 3+ years directly-related knowledge of security in a public-safety emergency center, government fusion center, or in an investigative or analytical role in law enforcement, corporate security, regulatory, fusion center, or other investigative agency or organization. Note:  A Master's degree will count as one year of experience.  A partial year of six months or more experience will be rounded up to one year.
 

Requirements for all levels:
 

  • Knowledge of security issues at an energy company.
  • Knowledge of critical infrastructure protection issues.
  • Demonstrated use and understanding of security concepts, and sophisticated security technologies, to support a fusion center operation.
  • Consistent demonstration of strong, critical thinking and decision-making skills applied in a security environment.
  • Ability to navigate and utilize modern technology.
  • Ability to monitor and respond to security events and to provide in-depth, security expertise.
  • Ability to assess security incidents and to take appropriate action. Ability to manage the flow of sensitive information.
  • Ability to coordinate and manage multiple work processes. Ability to provide leadership in a team environment.
  • Ability to work independently and to achieve results with little supervision.
  • Ability to maintain the utmost professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Ability to obtain government-issued, security clearance, as required.

Education Requirements

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:  Bachelor

Preferred Discipline: Criminal Justice
