We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Military service members and veterans with ranks from E3-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O3, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below will be considered for this opportunity.

Job Summary

Manages all aspects of payroll processing by auditing, analyzing and reviewing reports for monthly and multiple bi-weekly; multi-state, exempt and non-exempt pay groups to produce timely and accurate payroll runs.  

Specific duties and responsibilities include:

 

  • Reviews and analyzes payroll reports for issues, kickouts, corrections and make needed adjustments.
  • Verifies payroll data for completeness and resolve any discrepancies prior to processing.
  • Processes off cycle payroll runs for missing time, corrections, relocation, etc. 
  • Performs reconciliations of payroll, benefit and deduction transactions.
  • Balances and validates import payroll files.
  • Authorizes & executes payroll files for assigned payroll group.  
  • Plans and manages time effectively to meet payroll processing timelines.  
  • Responds to/interactions with employees, third party recipients, and business partners (human resources, compensation, information technology, accounts payable, accounting).
  • Reviews, maintains, and updates controls and documentation.
  • Understands gross to net calculation inclusive of OT calculations.
  • Understand Dominion Energy’ pay policies and labor contracts. 
  • Demonstrates customer service skills, attention to detail, and decision-making skills.
  • Completes recurring assignments independently and without specific instruction.  
  • Work is closely checked.  

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

At least one year of related payroll experience is required.

Specific knowledge, skills, abilities and experience include:

 

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including very strong excel skills
  • Ability to research and quickly analyze payroll data to identify discrepancies, kickouts, needed corrections
  • Ability to navigate within payroll software proficiently, such as Dayforce
  • Ability to comprehend payroll processing and procedures, company policies and Federal, State and local laws and employment regulations
  • Ability to establish and maintain a high level of trust, confidence, and concern with information
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated teamwork skills
  • Good listening skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Multitasking abilities

Education Requirements

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelor
