Job Summary

The successful candidates will become integral members of the Long-Term Operations Planning team, which operates within the System Operations Center (SOC). This team is dedicated to planning and analysis over a timeframe ranging from the present up to one year into the future. Their primary objective is to support Dominion Energy's strategic goals by closely analyzing the transmission system throughout this period. The transmission system is currently experiencing significant changes driven by growing demand, the integration of renewable energy sources, increased electrification, and the expansion of data centers. In response to these evolving conditions, Dominion Energy relies on load-flow modeling techniques. These models are designed to incorporate forecasts of load growth, anticipate planned changes to system topology, and align with necessary construction timelines. With EMS modeling and careful planning, the team ensures that the transmission system remains n-1 secure during both peak load periods and planned outage seasons to maintain reliable system operations and accommodate future energy needs.

The successful candidates will perform power-flow analysis on overall system operation and work with Dominion Energy's Transmission Planning, Project Management and Operations departments along with PJM to confirm planned capacity growth keeps up with forecasted load growth and provide recommended adjustments to construction and outage plans as needed to maintain n-1 security.

This position follows Dominion’s hybrid office/work-from-home guidelines and offers opportunities for occasional project field visits as well as participation in relevant industry-related events to enhance skills and knowledge.

•    Coordinate and work with PJM personnel to coordinate, identify, explain and mitigate concerns with outage plans
