We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Military service members and veterans with ranks from E5-E9, W1-CW5, or O3-O6, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below will be considered for this opportunity.

Job Summary

Dominion Energy seeks an attorney that will be hired at an Associate Counsel or Counsel level (commensurate with the successful candidate's experience), with the skills and demeanor necessary to quickly learn and support a wide variety of Dominion Energy’s regulatory compliance needs.  This position will have an integral role with Dominion Energy’s Regulatory Compliance group, including assisting with the development of a number of practices and procedures to ensure alignment with guidelines promulgated by the United States Department of Justice.  

The ideal candidate will have experience with analyzing and interpreting various legal and regulatory requirements and with the adoption of technological solutions to help facilitate regulatory compliance efforts. General familiarity with regulatory and other compliance requirements applicable to utilities also preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Associate Counsel
 

  • Review and analyze various legal and regulatory requirements and advise business partners regarding compliance with such requirements; in particular, provide advice regarding compliance with export controls laws and regulations.
  • Interview business partners regarding their current regulatory compliance obligations and their existing policies, procedures and document retention efforts.
  • Interact with regulatory counsel from the Law Department and provide advice arising out of regulatory requirements.
  • Work performed requires independent judgment and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.


Counsel
 

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in directly related field  
  • Review, analyze and interpret various legal and regulatory requirements, and advise business partners regarding compliance with such requirements; in particular, provide advice regarding compliance with various export controls laws and regulations.
  • Interview business partners regarding their current regulatory compliance obligations and their existing policies, procedures, and document retention efforts.
  • Advise internal clients on regulatory compliance obligations and all relevant best practices and procedures for ensuring compliance.
  • Interact with regulatory counsel from the Law Department and provide advice arising out of regulatory requirements.
  • Work performed requires independent judgment and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.


Note:  Active member in good standing with a mandatory state bar organization.

Education Requirements

Law Degree (J.D.) from an American Bar Association accredited law school is required

Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description

State law license required.
