We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Military service members and veterans with ranks from E3-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O3, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below will be considered for this opportunity.

Job Summary

Dominion Energy an exciting opportunity on our Supply Chain Transportation Management team as an Associate Supply Chain Transportation Specialist.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Arranges and coordinates transportation and shipping services for equipment and materials.
  • Identifies potential transportation service providers.
  • Communicates with field and project personnel to evaluate provider performance.
  • Reviews and handles freight bills.
  • Reviews and processes routine claims for lost or damaged materials.
  • Assists field personnel in expediting or locating materials in transit.
  • Assists with shipping requirements and issues.
  • May solicit proposals, evaluate responses, negotiate, and/or administer routine service contracts.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

0-2 years of related experience.

  • Basic knowledge of freight claim law procedures.
  • General knowledge of procurement practices, procedures, and policies.
  • General knowledge of business and contract law.
  • General knowledge material and service delivery fulfillment process.
  • Hazmat DOT knowledge.
  • Experience with SAP, preferred. 
  • Good verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Effective influence, persuasion, and negotiation skills.
  • Value, cost analysis, and general analytical skills.
  • Project management skills.
  • Ability to anticipate, understand, and respond to customer needs.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to use sound business judgment.

Education Requirements

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:

Bachelor

Preferred Disciplines:  Business Administration, Transportation Management
Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred discipline(s) listed above.
