We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Military service members and veterans with ranks from E5-E9, W1-CW5, or O3-O6, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below will be considered for this opportunity.

Job Summary

There is one position which will be filled at the level commensurate with the successful candidates education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities.
 
This role participates in the accounting and reporting activities for Dominion Energy Services (DES), a shared services company that provides accounting, legal, finance and other general and administrative services to various Dominion Energy subsidiaries, as well as all Dominion Energy benefit programs, such as the annual bonus program, pension, other postretirement employment benefits, stock compensation, workers compensation, and all incentive plans. This role is highly visible with growth potential as it requires significant coordination and communication with management, HR, Finance, Legal, Corporate Affairs and Regulatory.
 
Responsibilities may include any of the following: 
 

  • Preparing, reviewing and analyzing accounting records, financial statements and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformity to reporting and procedural standards
  • Participating in month-end, quarterly and year end closing, including journal entries and variance analysis primarily related to DES accounting and benefit programs
  • Performing or assisting with quarterly and year-end financial reporting activities related to both SEC filings and regulatory filings required by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission
  • Conducting complex assignments and analysis involving accounting projects and the day-to-day maintenance of a general ledger
  • Identifying inconsistencies and problems and then working to resolve them
  • Performing appropriate accounting controls, including SOX requirements
  • Routinely interacting with internal and external customers
  • Advising project teams on specific accounting and internal control issues relevant to new products, major business and organizational events, system conversions, upgrades and enhancements.
  • Assisting in FERC 60 preparation and filing
  • Assisting in preparation of regulatory filings or responses to regulatory requests

 
Note:  This position will work a hybrid work schedule (in office, remote).

Accountant role

  • 2-4 years of general accounting experience OR 1 year of public accounting experience (Note: A Master's degree will count as one year of experience. A partial year of six months or more will be rounded up to one year of experience).
  • Required Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or other related field
  • CPA License preferred
  • Big 4 accounting experience preferred

 

Senior Accountant role

  • 5-7 years of general accounting experience OR 4 years of public accounting experience (Note: A Master's degree will count as one year of experience. A partial year of six months or more will be rounded up to one year of experience).
  • Required Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or other related field
  • CPA License preferred
  • Big 4 accounting experience preferred
     

Education Requirements

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:  Bachelor
