Job Summary
This role is responsible for leading a team in the development, implementation, and ongoing management of financial budgeting and forecasting for the Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind Commercial Operations & Maintenance and Pilot project. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in project finance, budgeting, and forecasting. They will have proven experience managing cross-functional teams, implementing financial controls, and using enterprise systems like SAP. Strong communication skills and the ability to translate financial insights into actionable business strategies are essential.
- Lead the creation and execution of financial plans, budgets, and forecasts for CVOW Commercial O&M and Pilot project, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory expectations.
- Ensure all financial reporting and compliance requirements are met, adhering to Dominion Energy’s internal policies and external standards.
- Monitor and maintain effective financial controls; perform regular financial analysis to support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including forecasting, accruals, and variance reviews.
- Oversee financial aspects of daily O&M activities, including budget management, expense tracking, and preparation of financial reports.
- Provide strategic financial guidance, training, and support to key project stakeholders to promote sound financial decision-making.
- Assist project teams in maintaining and updating the project risk and opportunity register, ensuring that financial impacts are accurately assessed and reflected.
- Support claims and warranty management from a financial perspective, including cost impact analysis and financial documentation.
- Establish and maintain Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) elements in SAP; ensure accurate, timely, and consistent financial data entry and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead and facilitate regular budget meetings with the Project Team to monitor financial performance, address issues proactively, and ensure alignment with project objectives.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
- +7 years’ experience of financial management and analysis, accounting standards and practice, utility and industry experience.
- Controlling and Executive reporting experience.
- Project Management Skills a plus
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to adhere to tight timelines, demonstrating strong analytical skills and the capacity to communicate effectively with the project team and senior management.
- Process improvement experience
- Teaming, Mentoring, Customer Focus and analytical skills
- Understanding of accounting principles, asset management, and contract / claim management
- Strong command of MS Office application (Excel / Power Point) and proficiency with relevant SAP modules
- Excellent oral and written communication skills along with experience in forecasting reporting analyst and business controlling.
