Job Summary

Due to the dynamic nature of the role, the primary reporting location may include other local offices within the Eastern Region. Successful candidate will work collaboratively with current Field Methods specialists to support the Eastern Region, identify gaps in training, and leverage expertise to facilitate training.

This position is responsible for technical guidance and coaching of overhead and underground linemen in the development program. Field method and performance responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, work methods, training and safety. This position will also monitor and evaluate the workplace when observing trainees to ensure compliance with all OSHA and company regulations. Must stay abreast of governmental regulations and policies and assimilate their applicability to the Electric Distribution Construction business unit. This role will utilize the Developmental Field Practice logs, Accident Prevention Manual (APM) and Electric Operating Guidelines (EOG) to develop trainees' job knowledge and experience in the construction department. Will serve as a subject matter expert in linework best practices, tools and equipment as well as demonstrate usage to field colleagues. Prepares and delivers field training to complement classroom learning. Conducts root cause analysis of safety incidents/accidents and recommends actions to prevent their reoccurrence. This position may serve as first responder to safety incidents within the assigned area to gather and evaluate accident data.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The knowledge, skills, abilities and experience required for entry into this job include the following:

Must be a graduate of a Lineman development program. Requires minimum of 7 years experience in any combination of these roles: Overhead/Underground Lineman, Lead Lineman, Electric Serviceman 1st Class, Supervisor Construction/Operations, Contractor Resource Specialist, Contractor Resource Coordinator. Excellent communication and coaching skills. Excellent computer and writing skills. Ability to develop, prepare materials and deliver an effective training. Thorough understanding of company approved work methods, safety policies and applicable government regulations, Ability to work effectively in a team environment or independently. Ability to perform root cause analysis on accident/incident investigations
