Job Summary

Dominion Energy-WV (Hope Gas) is currently seeking Casual Rousters for our Goshen, Madison, Clarksburg, Weston, Parkersburg and Bens Run locations. 


PLEASE NOTE: This is a temporary full-time position. There are no medical benefits available. The hourly pay rate is $22.64 per hour.
 
•    Perform a variety of duties, either individually or as a member of a crew, incidental to the maintenance and installation of various natural gas distribution pipeline facilities and related equipment
•    Maintain pipeline facilities, operate various kinds of heavy duty, power driven hand tools and/or small tractor type equipment
•    Walk lines, repair leaks, monitor and report gas pressures and conditions
•    Insure that proper damage prevention procedures are following during pipeline encroachments
•    Maintain tools and equipment used in the performance of assigned duties
•    Keep equipment in safe and proper working condition

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

REQUIRED:

•    Must have six months documented experience in any one or combination of the following:  natural gas field work, pipeline work, construction, excavation, plant operations, laborer or line locating and/or related education (technical school or college.)
•    Must have documented computer skills
•    Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license   
•    Must have the ability to operate various equipment and tools weighing up to 90 lbs
•    Must have the ability to walk 10-15 miles per day over variable terrain, ability to operate various equipment (e.g.,  handheld reading device, wrenches and tools, etc.) weighing up to 50 lbs
•    Must have the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
•    Must have the ability to climb ladders and work from elevated work surfaces
•    Must have the ability to crawl, stoop, and work in limited spaces, on scaffolding and in awkward positions.

ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
•    Ability to follow mandatory safety rules and standard operating procedures and use personal protective equipment 
•    Ability to analyze problems, collect accurate data and draw valid conclusions 
•    Ability to work independently or as a crew member
•    Ability to enter work activities into a computer
 
PREFERRED:
•    Twelve months or more of natural gas field work experience is a plus

Education Requirements

Education Required:  High school diploma or GED

The company is actively seeking United States military veterans and service members who meet the qualifications. Military service members and veterans with ranks from E3-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O3, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined above

This position is subject to all weather conditions/environmental conditions 90% of work day. No effective protection from the weather.  May come Into contact with bugs, snakes, poison ivy, and the like.  Incumbent must be proficient in various areas and scopes of responsibility. Incumbent must be agile.  Significant walking/squatting is involved.  Pipeline terrain is variable (e.g., hills, streams, steep slopes, rocks, brush, wooded areas, etc.).
