Job Summary
North Anna currently seeking candidates for a Supervisor- Nuclear Engineering within the Design Engineering organization. The individual will be leading a team of engineers and technical specialists developing design changes focusing electrical and instrument and controls (I&C) modifications. The position also includes strong involvement with the cyber security program.
The supervisor will provide leadership and direction to an engineering work group to support safe and efficient nuclear power station operation. They must be able to work in a collaborative fashion with all station groups to develop design changes to maintain and upgrade the facility. Design changes will be coordinated to meet the station and outage goals. The position is also responsible for coordinating electrical and I&C related design changes developed by outside engineering firms.
Of prime importance is the ability to coach, mentor, and supervise the development of effective and energetic engineers and technical specialists. This position will be required to participate in Emergency Response Organization (ERO) and may be required to occasionally work hours other than dayshift to support emergent/refueling outage activities.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
The knowledge, skills, abilities and education required for entry into this job include the following:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills Knowledge of power plant operations
Ability to organize and manage human resources
7+ years of engineering experience of which at least 1 year shall be nuclear power plant experience. On-site experience to include at least .25 yr.
Professional Engineering (PE) license, shift technical advisor (STA) qualification or Senior reactor operator (SRO) license or Knowledge Certification is preferred
Nuclear station engineering experience is highly desired
Knowledge of power plant operations
Ability to organize and manage human resources
Positive optimistic and solution oriented attitude
Proactively develops entry level engineers to move on to greater responsibility
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Lead personnel to safely and efficiently executive work
Organize resources to achieve station goals
Demonstrate high level of ownership for their responsibilities, persists through adversity, and follows through with commitments
Acts with bias for action to challenge and correct behavior driven results
Proactively communicates information and decisions to personnel and station leaders in a manner that is honest, direct, and meaningful

Maintains appropriate oversight of his/her personnel and team members and acts promptly to provide direction when necessary
Demonstrated ability to understand a wide variety of topics and be sufficiently intrusive to ensure all work items under their area of responsibility are produced with the highest of quality and technical accuracy
Education Requirements
Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:
Bachelor
Preferred Discipline(s): Engineering, Engineering Technology
Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred discipline(s) listed above.
Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description
ANSI 3.1-2014, Section 4.4.8 (must be documented on form HR-AA-101)
Education: Baccalaureate degree in engineering or related science.
Minimum Experience for the position:
Related experience which shall include 4 yrs; Nuclear power plant experience to include 1 yr. On site experience to include .25 yr.
Note: Years of experience in job summary exceed the ANSI requirement for related experience (7+ years required for Supv Nuclear Engineering).
