Job Summary

This role analyzes, develops, implements, and evaluates performance-based technical training programs.

  • Maintains technical subject matter expertise in electrical maintenance and a thorough understanding of current business processes.
  • Acts as subject matter expert in electrical maintenance expertise. 
  • Consults with business partners to clarify and define work procedures and processes and develop and document new work procedures and processes.
  • Keeps abreast of current regulatory initiatives and assesses their impact on instructor training.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The knowledge, skills, abilities and experience required for entry into this job include the following:

  • 5+ years of experience in Electrical Maintenance
  • Graduate of related Dominion Development program preferred.
  • In-depth subject matter expertise in technical area of instruction.
  • Thorough understanding of business processes related to area of instruction.
  • In-depth knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design.
  • Proficiency in equipment operation/troubleshooting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent personal computer skills.
  • Competence in using software applications critical to target audience.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Excellent time management skills. 
  • Good coaching skills.
  • Ability to work well with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to analyze job tasks and develop training materials.
  • Ability to train and lead others.
  • Ability to interface with regulatory personnel and industry peers.

Education Requirements

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:

Bachelor

Preferred DIscipline(s): Education

Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred disciplines(s) listed above.

Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description

For Nuclear stations only:

ANSI/ANS-3.1-2014, Section 4.5.4

Education requirements: High School diploma

Minimum experience for the position: Related experience which shall include 2 yrs; Nuclear power plant experience to include 0.25 yrs.

Special requirements: 

1) Shall have demonstrated knowledge of instructional techniques through training or experience and be certified as a qualified instructor for the material being presented;

2) Instructors of licensed personnel who provide instruction on the simulator shall hold, or shall have held, a senior operator's license or have been certified for equivalent senior operator knowledge.

Note: Dominion Energy minimum requirements may exceed stated ANSI standards and candidates must meet the Dominion Energy minimum requirements.
