Job Summary
This position is covered by the collective bargaining agreement between Dominion Energy and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 50. This is a trainee position with multiple steps of tests for progression to Power Storekeeper. The pay rate begins at $24.61/hour with pay increases every 6 months until completion of 24-month training period.
Dominion Energy's Power Generation business unit seeks a highly motivated and qualified individual to fill the position of Power Storekeeper Trainee to support North Anna Power Station (internal Power Storekeepers are asked to submit bid letters to the hiring manager and request to transfer - please contact your manager and HRBP for further details). The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating safe general warehouse operations and activities including shipping and receiving deliveries, conducting stock checks, documenting warehouse transactions and records, and performing inventory counting through a cycle count process. The individual will handle all materials in and out of the warehouse at the station.
The work schedule is Four 10's at the station, no remote work option.
Physical labor is required such as standing, lifting, moving and carrying heavy objects, as well as operating power equipment.
Tasks include but are not limited to:
- Warehouse Operations: Safely coordinating daily warehouse activities such as shipping and receiving, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of material handling equipment.
- Safely load and unload various types of trucks at the warehouse and surrounding yards from box trucks, flat beds, etc.
- Ensuring appropriate documentation is received with material such as certs, heat, MSDS, etc.
- Create notifications in SAP for discrepancies with material during receipt process.
- Print labels and label material per procedure.
- Retrive material from various storage locations for issuance/replace material in various storage locations from returns.
- Determine safe method to handle large and unusual size items such as pipe, motors, pumps, large crates, etc.
- Inventory Management: Maintaining inventory levels, establishing stock criteria, and ensuring prodcuts are avilable for customers.
- Safely handle, move, reorganize, repalletize material for it's appropraite storage requirements from original packing upon completion of inspection and receipt.
- Control batch managed inventory per procedures, through documenting in SAP and proper physical marking of materials.
- Performing inventory/cycle count per the business unit requirements.
- Computer usage and Record Keeping: Using SAP to perform receipts, issues, returns, transfers and utility sale transactions, and managing physical storage location of materials through bin location updates per SCM procedures.
- Maintaining accurate records, files and logs of warehouse transactions and storage.
- Ensure accuracy of transactions meet SOX compliance requirements.
- Having the ability to use SAP and other nuclear software programs to inquire and perform consumption/usage research, investigate transactions to resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with employees and outside agencies, both verbally and in writing via company email.
- Equipment operations: Operate standard forklift (4,000-12,000lb) and specialized fork trucks- wire guide, narrow aisle, etc., WAV (work assist vehicle), UTV (utility task vehicle), Dominion owned pickup truck, or other as required.
- Utilize other material handling equipment such as electrical and manual pallet jacks, hand trucks, carts, etc.
- Operate various power and hand tools as required/needed for the tasks.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
0-2 years of warehouse experience. Must have high school diploma/GED.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Experience operating a forklift preferred.
- Experience with inventory management preferred.
- Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical equipment/parts.
- Able to perform basic math.
- Proficient in operations of a computer - SAP, Microsoft Office, Email required.
- Effectively and accurately enter data into computer systems.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to accurately read, follow and interpret and comply with department and company policies and procedures.
- Perform assigned tasks independently and without significant oversight.
- Effectively interface and communicate cross functionally internally with customers and externally to vendors.
- Perform all tasks safely utilizing the STAR process, Human Performance tools and OSHA requirements.
Education Requirements
