Job Summary

This expert level role is responsible for managing activities related to planning, scheduling, and implementation of the on-line weekly scheduling activities for the maintenance and modification of systems and equipment on an assigned nuclear unit for the work weeks assigned or the long-range plan that coordinates the work week schedules. 

- Coaches, mentors, and develops other members of the work management organization.
- Serves as the project manager for work week activities and has responsibility for implementing the work week schedule. 
- Provides directions to all department coordinators, planners, schedulers, and Project Managers, and other support personnel for the development of an effective and accurate schedule. 
- Acts as a single point of contact to properly coordinate/align the work week's activities; ensures optimum availability, compliance with regulatory and company policies, productivity, and safe operating performance. 
- Evaluates emergent work activities, adjusts priorities, adjusts risk assessments and risk management activities as required and integrates emergent work into the overall schedule. 
- Supports the development and implementation of outage schedules as requested by Outage and Planning to ensure on-line schedule integration.
- Prepares viable work schedules to maximize maintenance effectiveness and ensures department schedules are manpower-loaded to optimal levels. 
- Directs schedule execution to meet the Work Management Process Key Indicators and assigns corrective actions as necessary to ensure accountability during planning of work weeks.
- Provides overall management, direction, coordination, and communication of all work activities.  Is the single point of contact 24/7 for the assigned work week and provides leadership for the target week process. 
- Performs NRC-mandated maintenance risk reviews for on-line scheduled work. Evaluates scheduling execution performance analysis data and develops a weekly performance analysis report to assist in the work week critique and assignment of corrective actions. 
- Develops solutions to scheduling problems and resolves related plant resource, schedule, and staffing issues. 
- Coordinates with various departments to ensure effective communication and maximum efficiency in weekly work schedules.
- Assists in forced outage coordination as well as planned refuel outages to ensure Work Management Process is maintained to the highest level. 
- Provides yearly performance data for key members of the Work Control Team to station Superintendents to help project a true performance history. 

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The knowledge, skills, abilities and experiences required for entry into this job include the following:

- 7+ years of related experience in the operation and maintenance of power plant systems and equipment, with demonstrated experience in the nuclear field.  Proven experience leading teams or major projects required. 
- Knowledge of plant specifications, methods and procedures for the performance of mechanical, electrical, I & C and computer systems maintenance functions.  
- Knowledge of company software and systems used for scheduling outages. 
- Effective communication skills, ability to foster cooperation and interrelationships which support the planning and scheduling of work week activities. 
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to prepare viable work schedules, perform post plan assessments and identify problem areas and solutions.
- Ability to resolve employee concerns in a competent, respectful and responsive manner, and foster and create a Safety Conscious Work Environment supportive of positive, honest and open exchange of ideas and differing opinions.

Education Requirements

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:

Bachelor

Preferred Disciplines: Engineering, Engineering Technology

Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred discipline(s) listed above

Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description

SRO License or SRO Certificate (current or previously held) preferred, but not required.
