Job Summary
- Plans, coordinates, analyzes and reports on station's outages in a manner which effectively utilizes staffing, materials and equipment to ensure optimal availability, compliance with regulatory and company policies, productivity and safe operating performance.
- Coordinates with all plant departments and other fleet sites on various pre-outage planning activities and outage implementation.
- Identifies work that can be completed in advance of scheduled work outages (e.g., erection of scaffolds, temporary structures, etc.).
- Coordinates set-up of facilities, services, lifting and rigging activities and space allocations.
- If specifically assigned, coordinates material and equipment laydown plans for the yard and the containment building.
- Develops and implements trending of critical and near critical path activities and makes recommendations.
- Provides input into the development of detailed schedules for outages.
- Ensures required materials for outages are available and that shared items are properly allocated/reserved between Fleet sites. Develops 5-Year Outage plans and schedules and tracks goals during outages.
- Develops outage work scopes and plans/coordinates departmentally assigned supplemental outage activities.
- Conducts pre-, daily and post- outage meetings and prepares detailed weekly, monthly and end of outage reports.
- Logs and tracks Outage Scope Change Requests (OSCRs) before and during the outage and ensures these are incorporated into the outage schedule via appropriate windows and maintained on the Forced Outage list, when necessary.
- Obtains the status of procedures associated with the outage from affected departments, including vendor procedures, and notifies the Unit Outage Coordinator of problems with procedures, as necessary. Reviews OSCRs to prevent duplication of work activities in the outage schedule and maintains an OSCR log and file.
- Identifies outage-related work orders and required periodic testing.
- Identifies and coordinates special conditions required to perform certain work orders during the outage.
- Coordinates work and resources with various station and Fleet groups.
- Prepares outage analysis data for the final outage report.
- May be assigned to an Outage Control Center position.
- Participates as an active member of the site's Outage Focus Team (OFT).
- Prepares monthly KPI data to meet station/fleet expectations.
- Performs other duties as requested or assigned by the Unit Outage Coordinator or Nuclear Outage Supervisor.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
The knowledge, skills, abilities and experience required for entry into this job include the following:
5+ years relevant experience in directly related field, including power plant experience. (In lieu of preferred related Bachelor's degree, may substitute related Associate's degree and 7+ years of directly related experience or High School diploma/GED and 9+ years of directly related experience that demonstrates knowledge of relevant fundamental theories, principles and concepts.)
Knowledge of company software and systems used for scheduling outages. Must have lifting and rigging knowledge. Must be detail oriented, with planning and organizational skills.

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:
Bachelor
