Job Summary

North Anna Power Station in Mineral, VA is seeking an experienced Nuclear Construction Specialist to join the team.


  • Responsible for reviewing design change packages and work requests.
  • Provide support to mechanical, electrical, or civil supervision in planning, scheduling, and man-loading of assigned projects.
  • Verify work is being performed in accordance with station procedures and specifications.
  • Coordinate construction activities between craft personnel and company personnel.
  • Verify work in the field for compliance with station procedures, safety, close-outs, and completion of job as scheduled.
  • Coordinate work with craft personnel. Ensure all equipment and materials are available for work scope.
  • The construction specialist will provide budget input (manpower, duration, materials) for projects they are assigned. (Coordinate testing of completed systems. Interface with the stakeholders department to solve problems such as Engineering, Operations, Health Physics, Security, etc. Could be engineering, operations, health physics, security, corporate etc).


The company is actively seeking United States military veterans and service members who meet the qualifications outlined below.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

  • 6 or more years construction/projects experience which may include hands on project management experience in a particular craft (civil, electrical, mechanical, weld, etc.) or documented experience in the planning and / or implementation of construction projects.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, or civil design, procedures and codes.
  • Familiarity with processes and procedures required to implement physical modifications to the facility.
  • Could also include experience in design engineering, drafting, or equivalent.
  • Strong communication (written and oral) skills and Organizational skills.
  • Computer proficiency including Maximo, SAP, DocTop, Microsoft Office Suite, Plant Asset Management System (PAMS).
  • Completion of Dominion Power Station Electrical / Mechanical Development Program Nuclear (PSMPDN) (electrical) or PSMDPN (mechanical) or applicable experience is desirable.


Note:  A partial year of related experience of 6 months or greater will count as one year toward the required years of experience.  A Master's Degree will count as one year toward the required years of experience.


Military service members and veterans with ranks from E3-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O3, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined above.

Education Requirements

Bachelor Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education
