Job Summary

Instructor 

This role analyzes, develops, implements, and evaluates performance-based technical training programs. Maintains technical subject matter expertise and a thorough understanding of current business processes. Acts as subject matter expert in Chemistry.

Senior Instructor

In addition to above, also consults with business partners to clarify and define work procedures and processes and develop and document new work procedures and processes. Keeps abreast of current regulatory initiatives and assess their impact on instructor training.

Senior Instructor (Nuclear)

Develop instructional materials and conduct training for various technical training programs at the Company's nuclear power stations. An incumbent at this level should have in-depth knowledge of instructional design theory as well as expertise in Chemistry. This level works on the most complex training topics and is responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, implementing and evaluating training in the classroom, laboratory, and on-the-job. This level also is responsible for maintaining training programs in accordance with nuclear industry, regulatory, and legal requirements.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Instructor

2+ years of experience.

Knowledge of company organization and operations areas. Understanding of adult learning theory and instructional design. Full competency in skills related to specific job area. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Good Problem solving skills. Good time management skills. Good personal computer skills. Ability to competently use all software applications critical to the target audience. Ability to present material in an understandable way to large and small groups. Ability to analyze and organize information and develop training programs and classes. Ability to operate and troubleshoot equipment used by the target audience. Ability to lead and coach. Ability to process information and questions quickly and develop answers.

Senior Instructor

5+ years of related experience.

Considerable related experience. In-depth subject matter expertise in Chemistry. Thorough understanding of business processes related to area of Chemistry. In-depth knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design. Proficiency in equipment operation/troubleshooting.Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent personal computer skills. Competence in using software applications critical to target audience. Excellent problem solving skills. Excellent time management skills. Good coaching skills. Ability to work well with minimal supervision. Ability to analyze job tasks anddevelop training materials. Ability to train and lead others. Ability to interface with regulatory personnel andindustry peers.

Senior Instructor (Nuclear)

12 + years of related experience OR;
Certified Instructor (including 5+ years of experience) OR;
RO or SRO (including 5+ years of experience) OR;
Sr Instructor Training Cert from Dominion (including 5+ years of experience)
In depth knowledge of Chemistry, instructional theory and design and SAT.
Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, good personal computer, operate various instrumentationand controls, problem solving.
Abilities: Analyze and develop training materials, train and lead others, interface with regulatory personnel andindustry peers, informal leadership skills, ability to effectively communicate with regulators.
Bachelor preferred

 

Education Requirements

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:

Bachelor

Preferred Discipine: Education

Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred disciplines(s) listed above.

Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description

Reactor Operator (RO) or Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) license or applicable discipline INPO accredited initial training program or Senior Instructor Training Certification (Dominion) or Certified Instructor 

ANSI/ANS-3.1-2014, Section 4.5.4

Education requirements: High school diploma

Minimum experience for the position:

Related experience which shall include 2 yrs; Nuclear power plant experience to include 0.25 yrs. Special requirements:

1.) Shall have demonstrated knowledge of instructional techniques through training or experience and be certified as a qualified instructor for the material being presented;

2.) Instructors of licensed personnel who provide instruction on the simulator shall hold, or shall have held, a senior operator's license or have been certified for equivalent senior operator knowledge.
