Job Summary

North Anna Power Station is currently seeking a Controls Specialist or Senior Controls Specialist in the site engineering organization.   Job duties include:

  • Develop, implement and coordinate planning, estimating, and cost controls for power station construction projects. 
  • Develop and review project estimates. 
  • Monitor actual project cost and/or work status data to ensure projects proceed on schedule and within budget and provide status reports to management. 
  • Develop and review Engineering Department O&M budgets and analyze monthly cost reports. 
  • Implement, evaluate and monitor controls systems. 
  • Must be able to create and control sensitive budget information.  
  • Interface and coordinate with other corporate and station groups. 
  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned including up to 25% of time performing administrative duties.
  • This position also requires the following:
  • Must be able to access all parts of North Anna Power Station, including the Reactor Containment Building and confined spaces.
  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends to complete project estimates and schedules by allotted deadlines.
  • Must be willing carry a pager at all times.


Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Controls Specialist:  3 years or more relevant experience in project controls and estimating.

Senior Controls Specialist:  5 years or more relevant experience in project controls and estimating.

Able to estimate engineering person-hours for the design, equipment/parts costs, and implementing labor durations and costs

Able to review detailed implementation schedule design engineering documents, and interface with Nuclear Site Services and Outage and Planning to estimate costs associated with large complex projects.

Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications.

Education Requirements

Education Level:  Accounting, Finance, Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Associate, Bachelor.
