Job Summary
This position is responsible for analyzing and determining complex training needs; designing and developing high quality training programs and materials; and planning and scheduling training activities for the nuclear operator INPO accredited and non-accredited training programs to include but not limited to: conducting complex classroom, simulator and practical training courses for initial and requalification training for all Reactor Operator levels; conducting single training programs for specific disciplines (i.e. electrical); appraising and reporting student progress; documenting and maintaining records for training; conducting/documenting training programs and course effectiveness evaluations; report results of training results to the training management team; interpreting complex NRC regulations to create and implement training content to meet compliance requirements; and coaching, directing, mentoring, and training lower level instructors and support personnel.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

5+ years of nuclear operator training or related field. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be able to work independently and as a team member; must have excellent knowledge and experience to conduct classroom instruction, developing/preparing complex training materials, documents, and procedures, etc.; must be able to demonstrate extensive knowledge of the theory and application of the Systematic Approach to Training and strong understanding of adult learning theories; and assessing and evaluating training performance; must be flexible to accommodate shifting priorities to meet day-to-day needs of department and customers; must be able to maintain knowledge and skills needed to be the subject matter expert in area of responsibility; must be able to demonstrate excellent ability to identify and resolve problems in a continuous improvement environment; must be able to interpret and apply complex NRC regulations into compliant and consistent training programs; and must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills to lead, develop, mentor, train, and coach lower level instructors and support personnel.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's Degree from a recognized college or university in related field

Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description

Reactor Operator or Sr. Reactor Operator PWR license or SROC.
