Job Summary

The System Engineer serves as the primary interface between Engineering and the Maintenance, Operations, Licensing and Planning & Scheduling Departments. The individual is responsible for ensuring assigned systems perform safely and reliably through system monitoring and trending of performance data, and provide infield technical/engineering support for Maintenance and Operations (including callouts); troubleshooting, and testing (including callouts).  The incumbent will perform apparent cause and root cause determinations of equipment failures on assigned systems; establish the preventative maintenance requirements for system equipment and maintain the basis; review industry Operating Experience and identify needed changes; act as project champion for system changes to improve reliability; communicate system status to station management; Maintenance Rule reporting; establishing the preventative maintenance requirements and maintaining the basis; review industry OE and identify needed changes and develop regular Maintenance Rule reports.

The Program Engineer also serves the interface role, but is responsible for implementation of assigned Engineering Programs. The individual will be responsible for monitoring and trending of Program attributes and providing infield technical/engineering assistance for all departments. This can include after-hours call outs for troubleshooting or testing. The individual will perform apparent cause and root cause determinations for equipment failures, ensure Program attributes align with industry and regulatory guidance/requirements, review industry Operating Experience, and assess their program for needed changes.


Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The successful candidate will be expected to successfully complete training in the integrated operation of a nuclear power plant as well as qualification to perform Engineering tasks including support of the Station Emergency Plan.  Applicants must have strong computer skills and be highly motivated self-starters with excellent leadership, communication and organizational skills.  Must be capable and willing to accept future roles of increased responsibility.

This position requires a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an accredited University acceptable to the South Carolina State Board for registration as a Category 'A' Professional Engineer.

The positions will be filled commensurate with years of experience and credentials.
