Job Summary
Serves as the principal or lead scheduler in the review of station logs, reports, plant issues in helping to provide a broad overview of plant maintenance, operations focus, emergent work and outage scheduling activities. Performs a variety of tasks associated with the development, scheduling, and coordination of project schedules, daily, on-line maintenance and outage schedules. Coordinates and integrates all outage and/or on-line schedules to include the scheduling of process controls and updates for future schedules. Determines outage scope, duration and provides this information to support shutdown risk reviews. Establishes, adapts and prepares monthly station key performance indicators, monitors/graphs work order or outage completions. Provides data to management and analyzes the impact of prior forced and refuel outages. Works closely with Unit Outage Coordinators, Work Week Coordinators, and operations management to update, modify, maintain and prepare an integrated online maintenance and/or outage schedule. Schedule according to logic developed by the Outage Coordinators and Operations and adjusts schedule logic while maintaining data integrity and safe plant operations. Updates the daily or outage schedule, including daily and weekly status reports. Continuously monitors and revises scheduled activities for work departments , Work Week Coordinators, and Unit Outage Coordinators . Utilizes scheduling techniques, practices and established criteria to develop, maintain, analyze, and evaluate station schedules. Develops and implements trending of critical and near critical path activities and makes recommendations. Produces resource histograms as required. Analyzes critical path impacts based on schedule changes. Supports operations by creating and updating time scaled logic and bar chart diagrams, customized schedules and reports. Provides data needed to support Fleet and station performance indicators. Serves as an active member of the Outage Focus Team (OFT) and, in an outage capacity, assists the Unit Outage Coordinator with preparation of OFT and Outage Integration Team (OIT) meetings.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
The knowledge, skills, abilities and experience required for entry into this job include the following:
5+ years directly related experience demonstrating advanced knowledge of craft specialty and/or nuclear operations, as well as experience preparing maintenance (PM/CM/Outage) schedules.
In lieu of preferred related Associate's degree, may substitute High School diploma/GED and 7+ years of directly related experience.
Considerable knowledge and work experience in project planning and work management. Knowledge of company software and systems used for scheduling outages. Proficiency in Critical Path Method (CPM) schedule analysis, with considerable experience in the use of a computer, spreadsheet applications and on-line scheduling software. Proven ability to prepare and present technical information and data in a variety of formats. Previous experience working with LAN-based project scheduling tools. Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize work of self and others, and ability to work in a fast paced environment. Excellent communication skills and demonstrated experience through effective interaction with various levels of employees and management. Demonstrates strong analytical and abstract thinking skills, good problem solving skills, and skill in determining the impact of changing variables on plant operations. Ability to process information and make decisions quickly in a fast paced environment. Detail-oriented.
