Job Summary
This role is responsible for directing and coordinating shift operations and shift supervisors. Reviews and approves operational activities to ensure compliance with technical specifications and to ensure commitments are met (i.e., station and operations evolutions). Coordinates operational related activities with other departments. Reviews Operations Department's procedures and makes recommendations for change. Schedules personnel for shift coverage, training, vacation, sick leave and other station needs. Reviews operating trends and component material conditions to identify operating problems and works with the appropriate department to resolve the problem.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
The knowledge, skills, abilities and experience required for entry into this job include the following:
-8-10+ years of relevant experience (with preferred Bachelor's degree), including at least 2 years as a Shift Manager or Unit Supervisor;
-In lieu of preferred related Bachelor's degree, may substitute related Associate's degree and 10+ years of directly related experience (including at least 2 years as Shift Manager or Unit Supervisor) or High School diploma/GED and 12+ years of directly related experience (including at least 2 years as Shift Manager or Unit Supervisor);
-Must have a Senior Reactor Operator's license.

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:

Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description
Required: Senior Reactor Operator License
ANSI Requirements:
The individual filling the role of Operations Director and the individual filling role of Operations Middle Manager (Manager Shift Operations) will meet the license requirements of North Anna Units 1 and 2 Technical Specification 5.2.2.e, Surry Units 1 and 2 Technical Specification 6.1.2.2.d, Millstone Unit 2 Technical Specification 6.3.2, and Millstone Unit 3 Technical Specification 6.3.2, as applicable.
MPS U2 TS 6.3.2: The Operations Director or at least one operation middle manager shall hold a senior reactor operator license for Millstone No. 2.
MPS U3 TS 6.3.2: The Operations Director or at least one operations middle manager shall hold a senior reactor operator license for Millstone No. 3.
NAPS TS 5.2.2e: The Operations Director shall hold (or have previously held) a Senior Reactor Operator License for North Anna or a similar design Pressurized Water Reactor plant. The Supervisor Nuclear Shift Operations shall hold (or have previously held) a Senior Reactor Operator License for North Anna Power Station.
SPS TS 6.1.2.2d: The Operations Director shall hold (or previously held) Senior Reactor Operator License for Surry Power Station or a similar design Pressurized Water Reactor plant. The Manager Nuclear Shift Operations shall hold an active Senior Reactor Operator License for Surry Power Station.

Education requirements: Baccalaureate in engineering or related science.
Minimum experience for the position:
Power Plant experience which shall include 4 yrs., Nuclear power plant experience to include 4 yrs., Supervisory or Management experience to include 3 yrs.
Special Requirements:
1.) Shall meet one of the following:
(a) Hold a senior operator's license, or
(b) Have held a senior operator’s license, or
(c) Have been certified for equivalent senior operator's license.
2) During the years of nuclear power plant experience, the individual shall have participated in the management activities at a nuclear power plant during the following periods:
(a) 2 months of operation above 20% power,
(b) 1 month of routine refueling outage or initial fuel load,
(c) Initial plant startup testing or post refueling outage startup testing.
Note: Dominion Energy minimum requirements may exceed any ANSI standards and candidates must meet the Dominion Energy minimum requirements.
