We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Military service members and veterans with ranks from E3-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O3, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below will be considered for this opportunity.

Job Summary

This position will be filled at the entry, mid, or senior T&D Project Specialist level based on the qualifications of the successful candidate. 

 

Dominion Energy is seeking a candidate to fill the position of T&D Project Specialist for Permitting.

 

This position will form and leverage relationships between design, project management, joint use, construction, contractors, and external permitting agencies and facilitate stakeholder meetings. Analyze and evaluate existing processes for  improvements to ensure quality assurance and compliance with locality/company standards. Basic understanding of scope of work/s and locality requirements. Responsible for coordination of all permits, supporting internal projects/programs, and address any joint use and easement issues associated with the permits in timely manner. Act as single point of contact between Dominion Energy and contractor(s) responsible for permitting. Assist with onboarding, provide training as needed for contractor resources to ensure consistency across the system. Assist with resolutions of any quality issues with contractors, design and localities. Monitor work to ensure compliance with approved quality plans and procedures. Assist with providing leadership skills through training, mentoring and supporting less experienced personnel as well as interacting with other groups/departments. Provide bi-monthly report-out to Dominion Energy leadership to include status of relationship with Jurisdictions and DE contractor performance. Assist with interpretation and communication of company policies and procedures to customers. Assist during outage events. Provide design support as determined by department supervisor, utilizing ArcFM, AutoCAD, NJUNS, or other tools as appropriate. Provide assistance with inspecting project sites, facilitate stakeholder meetings, and provide daily support to designers and vendors. Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

T&D Project Specialist I:

-0-2 years of line worker, utility construction experience
-Skills: good written, verbal and interpersonal communication; math and technical aptitude; time management and organization; project management; analytical;
-Abilities: adaptable to change, demonstrate initiative, effectively interact with customers; teaming; detail oriented;
-Physical attributes required to perform essential functions of the job: walking, climbing, stooping, bending and prolonged standing.

T&D Project Specialist II

-2-3+ years of directly related experience (electric distribution/utility design; construction management), (Dominion Internal Candidates) Successful completion of the Customer Projects Designer Development Program;
-Strong knowledge of distribution design, electricity, company policies and procedures and mainframe and personal computer;
-Demonstrates leadership skills;
-Skills: good written, verbal and interpersonal communication; math and technical aptitude; time management and organization; project management; analytical;
-Abilities: adaptable to change, demonstrate initiative, effectively interact with customers; teaming; detail oriented;
-Physical attributes required to perform essential functions of the job: walking, climbing, stooping, bending and prolonged standing.

T&D Specialist III

-5+ years of directly related experience; 
-Strong knowledge of distribution design, electricity, company policies and procedures and mainframe and personal computer;
-Demonstrates leadership skills;
-Skills: good written, verbal and interpersonal communication; math and technical aptitude; time management and organization; project management; analytical;
-Abilities: adaptable to change, demonstrate initiative, effectively interact with customers; teaming; detail oriented;
-Physical attributes required to perform essential functions of the job: walking, climbing, stooping, bending and prolonged standing.

Education Requirements

Required Degree (equivalency not accepted in lieu of required degree):

GED

High School Graduate

Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description
