Job Summary
Performs and/or reviews engineering calculations, analysis, research, and design. Under direction of supervisor or work leader, exercises independence in evaluating, selecting, and applying standard or well defined engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. Uses independent judgment in prioritizing and making moderately complex adaptations and modifications. Assignments have clear and specified objectives and require investigation of a limited number of variables.
Proficiently performs assignments having the knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience needed to carry out all aspects of the job
Exercises independent judgment and decision-making in planning, organizing, and conducting work assignments
May receive instructions and guidance on unusual or complex problems and knows when to get others involved
Effectively utilizes the proper resources to develop solutions and devise new approaches to problems encountered in work assignments
Identifies and eliminates unnecessary work and “non-value added” activities
Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experiences (Minimum Requirements)
Develop through course study knowledge and application of engineering theories and principles, concepts, and fundamentals.
Grade level competency in applying engineering principles, fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures requiring some evaluation, originality and/or ingenuity to achieve project objectives.
Understands and can apply knowledge of configuration management.
Grade level ability to perform engineering calculations using applicable software programs (e.g., Excel, etc.).
Planning, organizational and project management skills. Ability to develop and take lead on project assignments.
Effective decision-making skills.
Effective oral and written communication skills (includes technical writing). Ability to think analytically and solve complex problems.
Grade level ability to interpret codes, regulations, and practices.
Equally effective working independently or in a team environment.
Ability to process information quickly and effectively manage multiple tasks.
Education Requirements
Must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Systems Engineering with a graduation date of Spring 2026 or later
Must have a GPA of 2.5 or greater
