We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Job Summary

Dominion Energy is seeking an individual to fulfill the role of Economic Development Market Specialist located at either the Lincoln Park office or the TFF office. 
 

Data Center Economic Development:
This role is responsible for development and support of the company's targeted business recruitment for the energy intensive data center industry. Serves as the lead representative and initial point of contact for significant new data center business prospects and coordinates the company response for specific site selection inquiries. For this segment, this position is responsible for developing targeted industry research reports, targeted marketing materials and other support in locating and promoting profitable data center growth within the company’s footprint. Responsible for targeted marketing outreach that ensures consistent qualified lead generation.  Develops and maintains relationships with key state and local economic development officials to support the communities within the service territory to promote localities and specific sites to targeted industry prospects.  Negotiates and writes basic agreements and calculates construction/bill estimates as required for specific projects.

Business Recruitment:
This role promotes the company's service area as an attractive location for data center expansion through targeted business recruitment missions and attendance at significant national meetings and conferences.  The target audience for these activities is executive level contacts at prospect businesses.

 

Business Unit Support:

Completes monthly report processing; interacts with Account and Finance; develops and maintains tools to assist with proposals to new business clients. Performs other duties as requested or assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

•    3+ years of directly related experience which may be in economic development, marketing and/or sales.
•    Strong ability to speak persuasively and develop rapport.
•    Understanding of company rates, riders, policies, and construction practices.
•    Demonstrated knowledge of customer service concepts and applications, rate schedules and company operations, policies, and procedures.
•    Knowledge of electrical energy concepts.
•    Distribution Design or Transmission experience.
•    Demonstrated leadership, teaming, initiative, customer service, technical knowledge, judgment and innovation.
•    Good ability to define problems, collect data and draw conclusions.
•    Good ability to write and develop presentations for executives.
•    Good ability to write basic agreements and to calculate construction/bill estimates.
•    Good ability to plan and organize work.
•    Good verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
•    Good public speaking and presentation skills.
•    Excellent problem-solving skills.
•    Ability to assimilate and integrate information from various sources and make decisions and recommendations.
•    Advanced ability to use Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
 

Education Requirements

Education Level: Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelor 

Disciplines: Preferred: Business, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Marketing 
 

Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description

Training in Economic Development or General Sales/Marketing
