Job Summary

Dominion Energy South Carolina (DESC) is seeking a Supervisor, Operations & Maintenance (2nd Line) for the A. M. Williams coal-fired steam power generation station in Goose Creek, SC.  Dominion Energy South Carolina’s Williams Generating Station is located in Goose Creek, SC (Berkeley County).  Williams Station is a regulated 650-megawatts, single unit coal fired generating plant located in the Bushy Park industrial area in Berkeley County.

The primary responsibility of this position is to manage the overall mechanical and electrical/instrumentation maintenance activities of a coal-fired electric generating facility.  Duties include employee training, development and performance, safety management, daily work planning and scheduling, outage or equipment overhaul planning and scheduling, budget planning and tracking, supervision of predictive and preventative maintenance programs, implementation of improvement programs for equipment or systems requiring long-term upgrading or replacement, and management of assigned or special projects including writing work scopes and specifications.

 

The company is actively seeking United States military veterans and service members who meet the qualifications outlined below.

  • Military service members and veterans with ranks from E3-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O3, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Bachelor’s Degree and seven (7) years of related experience OR an Associate’s Degree (technical degree preferred) and nine (9) years of related experience is required.  A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a Power Generation related discipline is preferred.  Experience must be in a power generation or similar industrial environment.  Combined-Cycle and Coal/Natural Gas Steam plant experience is a plus.  Demonstrated leadership ability to include previous supervisory experience is required.  Excellent communication, planning and organizational skills are required.  Strong computer skills are a must.  The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, self-starter capable of functioning at increasing levels of responsibility.  Candidates must be willing to relocate, as necessary.

 

This position may require working weekends, nights and holidays during outages, and other abnormal operating conditions.  Must be willing to relocate within a 50 miles driving distance of the plant facility.  Must be in good physical condition with the ability to safely climb stairs/ladders to structure heights exceeding 100 feet as required.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree and seven (7) years of related experience OR an Associate’s Degree (technical degree preferred) and nine(9) years of related experience.  A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a Power Generation related discipline is preferred.
