Job Summary

In this fully proficient level, the Specialist III provides technical and field support providing independent quality oversight and advisory support for electric transmission lines foundation construction. In addition to foundation installation and material verification, this position has been used to observe and evaluate the performance of other QA/QC suppliers to ensure their work is being performed in compliance with applicable standards, specifications, and contract requirements.  Support may include analyzing and evaluating technical documentation, equipment, process improvements, field conditions, and other programs for assurance that construction work is performed in accordance with Company policy, procedures, and/or requirements. 


The Construction Specialist III acts on behalf of the Owner or Utility and provides objective verification, assessment, and reporting without assuming responsibility for construction means and methods. Work with the current Field Work Consultants to help ensure documents are updated, and the team is properly notified and informed.


The Construction Specialist II may be utilized to observe and evaluate other QA/QC suppliers or third-party inspection agencies engaged in the project. This role is limited to verification and reporting and does not include directing or managing the work of other QA/QC suppliers.  

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The knowledge, skills, abilities and education required for entry into this job include the following:

5+ years directly related experience;

  • Advanced knowledge of operations, maintenance and technical construction applications;
  • Strong knowledge of contract administration and OSHA safety standards;
  • Skilled in applying engineering and construction theories and concepts to complex problems;
  • Skilled in interpreting codes, regulations and practices;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including good technical writing skills;
  • Good computer skills and knowledge, including an ability to use Microsoft Office programs as well as customized software applications;
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and abstract thinking skills;
  • Strong planning, organizational and project management skills;
  • Ability to work in a team environment under a team lead concept, and ability to provide guidance and mentorship to others;
  • Skilled in coordinating multiple tasks at multiple locations;
  • Skilled in interacting with the public

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:

Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description

Associated certifications preferred: International Arborist, State and Federal Certifications for Erosion and Sedimentation Control, Responsible Land Disturber, Construction Management or Project Management.

Expected Hiring Base Salary Range:

 

$73200 - $95000

 

The expected hiring base salary range is the range we anticipate hiring within for this position. The actual salary offered may vary based on factors such as the selected candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, and work location. This is not intended to represent the full salary range for the position or limit future compensation growth.
