We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Job Summary

  • The Transmission Strategic Projects Advisor will provide strategic and commercial advisory support for complex Electric Transmission initiatives, with a primary focus on the Valley Link joint venture, a multi company partnership with significant regulatory, financial, and governance complexity.
  • The role supports joint venture coordination and advancement of strategic transmission opportunities through cross functional collaboration, with emphasis on governance alignment, regulatory coordination, and integration of key workstreams across partner companies.
  • The Advisor consolidates input from subject matter experts and translates it into clear, decision-ready analyses and materials, including business cases, alternatives analyses, strategic recommendations, leadership presentations and performance metrics.
  • This role ensures effective internal and external communications by maintaining consistent information flow across functional groups and leadership teams, identifying communication gaps, and supporting timely decision making and execution readiness.
  • The Advisor also supports governance refinement by helping clarify roles, responsibilities, and processes, and performs strategic analyses to identify risks, interdependencies, and process improvement opportunities across complex, multi-party initiatives.
  • In addition, the role ensures Dominion Energy managed processes are coordinated and elevated to the Valley Link Project Management Lead to support alignment, accountability, and successful delivery.
  • The role may have Non-Dominion Energy Workers (NDEWs) report to them.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The knowledge, skills, abilities and experiences that are required for entry into this job include the following:

  • 8+ years directly related experience in engineering, project management, joint ventures, business development and relevant technologies in the assigned project area.
  • Expert knowledge and job specific applications of engineering, project management and/or business development / administration.
  • Skills: strong verbal and written communication; presentation/public speaking; excellent negotiating; budgeting; scheduling.
  • Abilities: logical reasoning; conduct effective meetings; work with all levels of individuals; team facilitation; manage multiple priorities; operates effectively in ambiguous, highly collaborative environments.

Education Requirements

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelor

Preferred Disciplines: Engineering, Business Administration

Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred discipline(s) listed above

 

  • 8+ years of directly related experience with a Bachelors Degree
  • 10+ years of directly related experience with an Associates Degree
  • 12+ years of directly related experience with a High School Diploma

Preferred: Project Management Pro. (PMP)
