Job Summary

 

Coordinate, schedule, and direct the activities of the detailed design engineering group responsible for all detailed design aspects of overhead electric transmission lines, Specific duties include supervision for both company and contract engineering resources required to perform a variety of transmission line design functions including structural analysis, foundations, and PLS CADD input; Direction for the technical aspects of the design engineering work as well as providing technical direction to engineers in the group; Assignment of work activities and leadership to ensure timely and accurate completion; Leading team to provide cost effective project solutions that involve engineering calculations and studies, design drawings, bills of material, construction and material specifications; Providing the training and guidance needed for the engineering staff; Assisting in setting and meeting goals for the group.

 

This position will work a hybrid schedule (3 days in office, 2 days remote).

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The knowledge, skills, abilities and experiences that are required for entry into this job include the following:

  • 7+ years directly related experience with a required Bachelor's or higher degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology (Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications; A an advanced degree can count as one year experience)
  • Demonstrated leadership and coaching skills
  • Demonstrated ability to process information quickly and effectively manage multiple tasks
  • Strong conflict resolution skills
  • Strong planning, organizing and project management skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills (including technical writing)
  • Proven decision-making skills; In-depth knowledge of engineering theories and principles
  • Demonstrated ability to think analytically and to solve complex problems
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret codes, regulations and practices.

 

The company is actively seeking United States military veterans and service members who meet the qualifications outlined below.

  • Military service members and veterans with a rank of E-5 or higher plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined (above/below).
