We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Job Summary
Electric Transmission Area Planning seeks to fill multiple Sr and Staff Engineer positions.
The successful candidate will:
• Work within the PJM Regional Transmission Expansion Planning Process (RTEPP)
• Assess and develop transmission expansion plans
• Support Dominion’s net zero 2050 goals
• Work across Generation → Transmission → Distribution groups
Preferred background includes strong electric utility industry experience, especially Transmission or Distribution.
Primary Responsibilities
• Collaborate with PJM, ET Planning Teams, ET Operations Engineering, and Substation execution teams
• Develop transmission solutions for new data centers and substations
• Participate in FERC Order 1000 competitive windows
• Develop and sponsor regional transmission projects
• Present project needs to PJM and SCC regulators
• Support tool development and automation
• Perform other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
The knowledge, skills, abilities and experience required for entry into this job include the following:
- Sr Engineer: 5+ years directly related experience
- Staff Engineer: 8+ years directly related experience
- Experience in Transmission Planning, System Protection, Substation Design, Transmission Lines is a plus
- Self motivated; able to work independently or collaboratively
- Experience with PSSE, TARA, PROMOD, Aspen One Liner
- Experience in power flow, contingency analysis and short circuit studies
- Experience automating engineering workflows
- Experience developing and maintaining scripts or applications that support engineering processes
- Demonstrated proficiency in Python, including the ability to write well-structured code for automation and data processing
- Ability to query, manipulate, and manage data using SQL or similar tools
- Understanding of AC/DC fundamentals and 3 phase power systems
- Strong communication, leadership, and time management skills
- Knowledge of substation components
- Understanding of protection principles (lines, feeders, major equipment)
- Working knowledge of one line diagrams and relay functional drawings
- Strong computer skills
- Ability to coach junior engineers
REQUIRED ENGINEERING CRITERIA:
For placement of a candidate in the Engineer job series, the following criteria must be met:
- Possess a 4-year Engineering degree from an ABET accredited Engineering program based on the year that the Engineering program was accredited by ABET, or
- Possess a 4-year Engineering degree from an institution outside of the U.S. which is accredited through the country's own Engineering accrediting body under the Washington Accord as a full signatory, and is a degree that was recognized by the country's accrediting body on or after the date that full signatory status was achieved, or
- Possess a 4-year degree in Engineering (non-ABET accredited), Physics, Chemistry, Math or Engineering Technology and a post-graduate Engineering degree from an institution where the undergraduate degree in the same Engineering discipline is ABET-accredited based on the year the Engineering program was accredited by ABET, or
- Holds or has previously held a valid U.S. Professional Engineer license.

Bachelor’s in Engineering
Preferred: Master’s or higher in Electrical Engineering, specializing in Power Systems
